By the time Elisa and Gareth arrived in Moranta, it was already 9 p.m.
Prior to boarding the plane, Elisa had sent a message to Winslow. Consequently, as soon as they disembarked, Winslow had arranged for North to come and pick them up.
North's expression immediately soured upon seeing Gareth.
He had certainly not forgotten how Gareth had plotted against him in the past.
"What are you doing here with Ms. Benett? Ms. Benett, have you already hired him as your bodyguard?" North scolded Gareth before quickly following up with another question.
Elisa was aware of the grudges and disputes between North and Gareth, but North was not the only person present. Elisa put on a serious face and reprimanded him, "He's my friend, North. You can't speak like that."
"Ms. Benett, if this person truly is your friend, then I will naturally hold him in high regard. However, the issue is that this person has been staying with you in the casino for such a long time. How can someone like him possibly be a friend?" North continued to speak about Gareth without any courtesy. Even his eyes were filled with disdain.
Gareth's expression darkened. Thomas, who was standing behind him, had already noticed the hostility emanating from his entire being.
However, North was Winslow's subordinate. Furthermore, his previous actions had affected North, so Gareth chose to restrain his anger for now.
In the end, Elisa spoke up for Gareth. "If Gareth wasn't my friend, why would he have taken a bullet for me last time? I didn't come here to listen to this. Take me to my uncle's place immediately."
Elisa did not forget the main task at hand either.
Upon hearing her words, North remained silent.
Soon, he was leading the way ahead.
When North brought Elisa and the others to the casino, he instructed Brie to take Elisa to meet the boss. Gareth and Thomas were stopped by North.
