Elisa glanced casually at Nicole but chose to ignore her provocations completely.
At the moment, she had no desire to engage with Nicole.
However, in the next moment, Nicole proceeded to greet Damian after following Aaron. "Uncle Damian."
She nodded politely, maintaining impeccable manners.
Damian, on the other hand, showed no courtesy to either of them. His frown deepened, especially when he laid eyes on Nicole. "Why does she look different from the last time I saw her?"
Aaron maintained his smile, while Nicole's expression stiffened.
This marked her first appearance in front of her boyfriend's family, and the first time she had faced such blatant disrespect. She felt a growing sense of embarrassment but remained silent, exerting self-restraint.
Aaron, however, stood by her side and decided to address Damian's rudeness. "Uncle Damian, perhaps age is catching up to you. This is the first time I've brought someone home, and she's my fiancée. How could you make such comments? You're clearly making my fiancée uncomfortable."
While Aaron's words were delivered with a smile, there was no mistaking the edge in his tone, signifying his complete lack of respect for Damian's behavior.
"Your fiancée? Since when did you have a fiancée?" Damian countered, skepticism lacing his words. "Weren't you just dating around not too long ago? And now, all of a sudden, she's your fiancée. That's quite the swift decision."
Meanwhile, Elisa remained uninterested in becoming involved in their family affairs. Her focus was singular, fixated on one burning question: Why was Gareth present at this banquet?
"Uncle Winslow, let's move to the other side. Excuse us, Mr. Fawler."
With that, Winslow led Elisa away.
