Upon noticing Mildred's silence, the old doctor fell into deep thought. He couldn't help but inquire, "Ms. Carrerra, if I may, how did you come across Ms. Benett?"
Mildred snapped back to reality and shook her head. "My younger brother found her."
The old doctor understood.
While he admired Elisa, he also understood that if Elisa herself was unwilling to share, he shouldn't push for more information.
Everything in life is predetermined. The knowledge meant for one will inevitably be acquired. Conversely, no amount of contemplation will reveal what one is not destined to understand.
When Elisa appeared before Winslow, he never questioned her.
As the two were about to board the plane, Carrick unexpectedly came to bid them farewell.
"Ms. Benett, I wish you a smooth journey. I won't forget the things you've said. If you ever need help, feel free to call me anytime."
"Where's the antidote for the poison you gave to Gareth?" Elisa suddenly remembered that Carrick had also resorted to such despicable tactics after Nicole poisoned Gareth.
Upon being reminded, Carrick replied, "Give me a second."
Carrick used poison to manipulate people, and he personally handled many matters.
Only he knew where he had placed the antidote.
As Elisa waited for Carrick to retrieve the antidote, Winslow had no choice but to make the captain wait for her.
Soon enough, Carrick returned with the antidote. "The poison has been in Gareth's body for quite some time now. This should be taken continuously for a week, three times a day, one pill at a time."
"Okay," Elisa responded nonchalantly.
