Gareth spoke plainly, "If it was my fault, I would accept any anger directed at me."
However, since it wasn't his doing, he wouldn't accept any form of differential treatment.
Elisa chuckled softly, "But it seems you've forgotten that all of this happened because of you. Would I have involved Will in this role-play if I weren't trying to make you give up on me? I don't want to argue with you over minor details."
Faced with Elisa's mockery, Gareth felt as though something was lodged in his throat. He didn't even know how to speak to her again.
She was emotional at the moment, so whatever he said would be futile.
However, he was certainly not willing to be Will's punching bag for no reason.
"You need to calm down now. No one can hinder your choices. But I'm certain I can't let go of you," Gareth said in a low voice.
"Oh, you're not letting go of me? Are you planning to pull off a bride kidnapping?" Elisa immediately raised an eyebrow, finding the situation even more amusing.
Without any hesitation or evasion, Gareth enunciated, "Yes."
Elisa was struck speechless.
She knew Gareth's temperament better than anyone else. Having spent three years living with him and the few months of entanglement after their divorce, she understood him clearly.
He was a man of his word.
However, she was no longer at the tender age of eighteen and didn't need such persistence from him.
"Cut it out, Gareth. If I were to get married, I would never let such a situation occur." Elisa's face fell. She no longer had the patience to continue the conversation with Gareth.
Thus, she promptly hung up the phone.
Meanwhile, Gareth was certain of one thing—he was definitely going back to Bayswe.
Moreover, he had to bring his grandparents with him.
