Immediately, Eden chuckled softly. "Liz, what are you talking about? If I were dead, how could I express my feelings for you? I was just making a comparison, so don't take it to heart. I understand that Mr. Knowles is by your side, and indeed, I am powerless to harm you. That being said, I have no intention of causing you any harm."
Eden also made his own stance clear.
If he had intended to harm Elisa, he would have done so long ago. He certainly wouldn't have saved her on the day of the auction.
Elisa let out a snigger. "So what? Should I be thanking you now?"
Eden immediately denied, "That's not what I meant. Liz, I think we can have a good relationship. If you don't want to be with me romantically, we should at least still be friends."
"You wouldn't even answer a simple question about who is threatening my life and share your true intentions. Why should I befriend you? Do you think I'm a fool?"
Elisa gave him a skeptical look, as she had completely run out of patience.
Three silver needles instantly flew towards Eden, who, with his sharp senses, easily dodged Elisa's attack.
Eden sighed softly. "Why do you harbor such animosity towards me? I'm being honest when I say I now consider you as a friend. If you were really an enemy, you wouldn't have had the chance to speak with me so much."
"So what?"
Elisa felt agitated with the people around her, especially Eden.
"You refuse to reveal your intentions to me, which can only mean that I'm a threat to you. Is there a problem within the royal family, or is there something inherently wrong with my identity?"
Meanwhile, the woman who accompanied Eden was Linda's boss behind the scenes.
Irene Yves was either a princess or the daughter of an official, but Elisa believed she was the former. As a prince, it was unlikely for Eden to associate and collaborate with the daughter of an official.
