Her doorbell suddenly rang.
Elisa was startled and slightly surprised. She immediately tapped on her keyboard and secured what she had before she got up and walked to the door.
She was a little astonished. Who would come so late at night?
She was struggling and wondering if it was Carle…
She had chatted with Carle for a while today, and she wasn’t overly enthusiastic as she gave him one-word replies.
However…
When she walked to the door and saw that the visitor was Gareth, her expression immediately turned nasty.
She couldn’t attend to so much. She returned to her computer at once and handled everything quickly. The desktop resumed its usual appearance, and she turned off the display screen.
The doorbell was still ringing. Elisa walked to the door again and opened it.
“Why are you here so late at night?”
This time, Elisa was surprised because Gareth didn’t knock on the door loudly.
But she sized Gareth up with a cold and deep gaze. She wasn’t as flustered as she had been previously, but she felt sheepish for some reason.
Did Gareth find out that it was her?
But…
She hadn’t shown her face at the time, and it was only for a split second. Could he have found out that it was her?
If he hadn’t found out, his company’s confidential information would have been breached. Why was he looking for her instead of keeping watch at the company?
A cold expression streaked across a deep part of her eyes, but she didn’t say anything.
Gareth didn’t care if Elisa stepped aside. He made his way in, and he took in the scent of her and her house. For some reason, the irritation he felt seemed to have been subdued by the sweet scent.
Elisa didn’t say anything, and she closed the door.
