“Then, how can you still be so chilled? Let’s meet up and get him to tell us more. His misfortune excites me!”
Jeremy was stupefied. Eventually, he said, “I’ll go over now.”
…
Soon, they arrived at their usual hangout spot.
As usual, Gareth didn’t talk much.
Vincent was always fun and talkative, but today he was reticent and moody. If it was in the past, he wouldn’t hesitate to probe Gareth and get to the bottom of his plight.
But today, he was also being peculiar.
Obviously, Gareth and Jeremy could sense something was wrong with Vincent. They exchanged a look, and then Jeremy looked at Vincent, “What’s wrong with you today?”
Vincent was jolted back to the present. He shrugged, “What could go wrong with me?”
Gareth glanced at Vincent, “You called me and said you were upset?”
He might appear indifferent, but he genuinely cared for Vincent.
Jeremy was flabbergasted, “What happened? Didn’t know there’s anything that could upset you.”
But after he finished speaking, something struck a chord in him, “Is it about your mother?”
Immediately, Vincent seethed and lamented, “What else if not because of that d*mn woman!”
Gareth and Jeremy looked at him, especially Jeremy. He was surprised to see Vincent getting so worked up.
