Rose’s instincts told her that something was off. “Are you lying?”
“I said I didn’t do it. It was not me. But I am aware of the matter.”
Rose was even more puzzled. “What are you talking about? Can you explain it to me clearly? Are you trying to make me die from anxiety?”
Linda pursed her lips. She seemed unwilling to reveal what was going on.
Rose knew her daughter well. So she lowered her voice and said, “I’m your mother. Do you plan to hide from me? Did you meet someone or happen to land into any trouble? You have to tell me everything. What if this is all a trap set by Elisa?”
Linda’s eyes flickered. After a moment of hesitation, she finally told Rose everything.
…
Rose had something else to do, so she left early.
Linda was alone in her room. She was browsing through Twitter that day and found posts about Elisa. She was furious to see Elisa doing so well when she, on the other hand, was in the dumps. She was highly infuriated!
Just then, her phone rang. It was an unknown number.
She did not want to answer it.
So she rejected the call.
She did not feel like answering a stranger’s call. Moreover, she was not well. People would understand if she did not take any calls.
But… Her phone rang once more.
