Other women would have cried in pain or acted weakly in this situation.
But not Elisa. Everything was as usual, and it was as though this was a small matter to her. She wasn’t asking for help at all.
Once everything was done, Elisa stood up without help, as if she wasn’t in pain.
The doctors looked at her in astonishment. “Ms. Benett, you’re the toughest woman I’ve ever met.”
Elisa smiled. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. This is my job. Don’t get your wound wet for a few days; change bandages daily. Don’t do any physical activities, and don’t eat spicy food. Have balanced meals.”
Elisa nodded. “Alright.”
Just like that, they walked out. As Gareth came over to pick her up, Elisa immediately said, “I’m fine. I can walk on my own.”
Gareth glanced at her four-inch-tall heels and couldn’t be bothered to say anything. He picked her up.
Elisa was dumbfounded.
She didn’t resist in the end.
Gareth carried her into the car before Thomas quickly drove back to the hotel.
Vincent had stayed in the hotel the whole day. He wanted to go out to get some air, but… when the elevator reached the first floor, he saw Gareth carrying Elisa as soon as the doors opened.
He was slightly stunned, and before he could get out of the elevator, Gareth walked in with Elisa in his arms.
Thomas followed behind them.
Vincent was a little dazed, and he seemed to tease them. “Oh, what exciting game are the two of you playing?”
