Rachel furrowed her brows. Upon looking at Elisa, she couldn’t help but ask, “Who made a move against you? Were you accidentally hurt, or did someone target you?”
“I’m not sure yet.” Elisa smiled. “You should go back and rest. Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”
Elisa didn’t tell Rachel the truth. She didn’t want her good friend to worry.
Rachel sighed in frustration. “Rest well. Let me know if there are any problems. I’ll come over at any time. Somehow, I feel like Gareth is unreliable!”
Elisa laughed lightly. “Alright.”
Just like that, Rachel left in a reluctant and worried state.
When she returned, she saw Vincent sitting on the couch with a dark expression. She furrowed her brows and asked, “Why didn’t you tell me something happened to Liz?”
Vincent’s gaze swept past her indifferently. “She told me not to tell you.”
“You didn’t tell me because she told you not to? She needs to be taken care of! How could that man take care of her? What would you do if he looked for someone else and found an untrustworthy person to take care of her instead?”
Vincent frowned. “She’s an adult. Are you the only person who can take care of her? Moreover, is Gareth that much of a failure? Doesn’t he have any reliable people around him? Why are you worrying for nothing?”
“That’s my good friend! She’s my best friend, more important to me than life itself!”
Vincent’s face fell abruptly. At that moment, he was very annoyed when he heard her say that her best friend was more important to her than her life!
“Since she’s more important to you than life itself, stay there and take care of her! Why did you come back?”
Rachel was flabbergasted.
This jerk is being unreasonable!
She didn’t want to look at him or speak to him. She returned to her bedroom instead.
