Vincent was dumbfounded!
What the heck! Has this stupid man gone mad?!
How can he say such things?!
He already likes Elisa, but he's still stubborn and saying such nasty things!
How can he do that!
Elisa's expression seemed to have paled. She never imagined Gareth would say such things. The next moment, she couldn't help but laugh. "Yes. I'm not fit to be human. I know that, so I've kept my distance from you."
Right now, she didn't want to say too much to Gareth. She felt indescribably irritated with the man.
After what Gareth said, his complexion changed. It was as though he had spoken without thinking.
At this moment, when he saw Elisa's expression, his thin lips pursed tightly. He turned away and didn't say a word.
Vincent was still driving but couldn't stand the awkward air any longer.
He coughed dryly and immediately smoothed things over for Gareth. "D*mn it! Why are the two of you arguing? How big of a deal is it? Gareth, you're a man. You never watch your words and don't mean what you say. I think there's something wrong with you."
Gareth furrowed his brows tightly and immediately looked at Vincent coldly.
But Vincent didn't look in the rearview mirror. He had expected such a reaction from Gareth, so he didn't give Gareth a chance to meet his gaze.
Elisa turned away and didn't say a word. It was as though nothing had happened, and she returned to normal.
Vincent had a monologue of sorts for the next couple of minutes. He kept speaking to break the ice, but Gareth and Elisa didn't answer him at all. He felt exhausted and awkward.
In the end, he gave up and stopped talking.
When they reached their destination, he was the first to get out of the car after he gave Elisa the car keys.
He didn't want to stay in the car any longer!
The air outside was great!
Once Elisa received the car keys, she left after Gareth got out of the car.
Gareth stood on the spot and looked coldly at Elisa's figure.
Vincent wrinkled his brows tightly and looked at Gareth. "Everyone says Mr. Wickam is swift, decisive, and does everything with justifications, but did you think before you spoke?"
"No."
"Huh?!" Vincent seemed to laugh in his rage. Astonishment was entangled in his eyes. "You didn't think about it?"
Gareth didn't say anything, and he walked ahead.
Vincent walked to him exasperatedly. "Gareth Wickam! What do I have to say to you? You clearly like and want to pursue her but insist on being hostile. Are you trying to force her away, or are you trying to give yourself no way out?!"
In an instant, Gareth's face turned frosty. He looked at Vincent icily and warned him, "I don't want to hear such things again."
What Gareth implied was clear. He meant to say that he didn't like Elisa. No matter how often Vincent said it, Gareth didn't like her.
Vincent was dumbstruck.
D*mn!
Do I have nothing to do but meddle in Gareth's business? But this stupid man is my best friend! If I don't intervene, who will?
No. This won't do. I have to call Jeremy later and tell him how idiotic Gareth was!
Vincent was incensed!
