But he didn't dare ask.
Gareth put his phone down coldly. 'Bang.' It was deafening.
Mr. Wickam was rarely so irritable.
He wouldn't usually throw things around to vent his anger unless… he was livid.
Thomas scratched the tip of his nose. That's right. Mr. Wickam doesn't care. He slammed his phone down by accident.
Thomas hung his head and decided to wait a while more. He could leave if Gareth didn't have further instructions.
But…
After a short while, he suddenly heard Gareth's frosty voice. "Get Elisa to come here right now. Make her solve the problems in the partnership project with Benett Corporation."
Thomas was dumbstruck.
He acknowledged the instruction and left.
He could only summon his courage and call Elisa. But he was more eager to call Elisa than stay in Gareth's office. At the very least, Ms. Benett wasn't as fierce.
The call went through quickly.
Thomas immediately said, "Ms. Benett, I'm very sorry to disturb you. May I ask if you're free right now?"
"What's up?" Elisa's voice was very calm. Thomas didn't hear other voices on the other end. She seemed to be in a silent place.
Thomas immediately said, "It's like this. Some problems have occurred in your partnership project with Wickam Group. There are also defects during the operations. Mr. Wickam instructed me to inform you to come and solve it now."
Elisa furrowed her brows slightly. She wanted to cause a commotion, not for the sake of the Wickam family. Did he come to find fault with me after he saw the news, or is there really a problem?
In the past, she would have thought that the former was impossible since Gareth had no interest in her.
But now… Gareth wanted to take advantage of her and remarry her. He inevitably wouldn't want her to be with Will.
Elisa couldn't be instantly sure, but the company's project was important. She couldn't tolerate a single mishap, so she answered. "Alright. I'll come over now."
Thomas immediately sighed in relief. He was reassured with Ms. Benett's reply.
If Ms. Benett said she was busy and couldn't go, Thomas wasn't sure if Mr. Wickam would go mad and look for her in person.
After Elisa ended the call, she looked at the man across her. "I have something to do, so I'm going to leave."
Will raised his brows. "I'll send you."
Elisa immediately said, "I'm going to Wickam Group. You shouldn't come."
Will must have heard everything in the call.
Only the two of them were in the room. It was very quiet.
Elisa had an indifferent expression. She didn't need to hide anything from Will for that matter.
Will said with a faint smile, "I'm only sending you to the doorstep. I'm not going to go up with you. Gareth can't be so absurd."
Elisa said firmly, "It's alright. I can just get a cab."
Her car was still at Benett Corporation.
But Will said in a low voice, "No. I'll worry."
He got up after that. "Let's go. I'll drop you off."
Elisa couldn't convince him. She knew he would continue insisting, so she said nothing and got into his car.
She did need to cause a commotion now. But of course, like she said, it wasn't for Gareth to see. It was for the media and Benett Corporation.
When they got into the car, the media emerged from hiding in the corner!
Everyone was carefully taking pictures.
