Chapter 936 A Reasonable Man
Someone could not resist asking, "Does Ms. Elisa have something to do with this?"
Otherwise, why is she in this meeting?
Jessie also noticed this and immediately looked at Elisa.
Linda, seated beside Elisa, looked at her with jealousy and fury and was on the verge of losing her temper.
Why? Why is Elisa involved in this?
Since Elisa is here, it can only mean she has a role in the collaboration James mentioned!
D*mn it!
B*tch!
Elisa answered calmly, "That's right. I have a role in this."
James smiled at the crowd. "Everyone, please calm down."
"Calm down? Don't you know who Rene is? Even Gareth and Will could not meet Rene in person. No one knows who she is because she never showed her face. We are not even sure if Rene is a woman. Is Ms. Elisa able to contact her?" Even someone who had supported Nelson could not resist voicing his doubt.
His doubt prompted another to voice the same. A thin, flat-chested woman adjusted her glasses and reprimanded, "Ms. Elisa, this is important. We can't condone any deception and secrecy about this. James was your father's close friend, so his care for you naturally clouded his judgment and led him to overlook your wrongdoings. Ms. Elisa, you should repent now and not repeat the same mistake."
The woman was rude and harsh with her words.
Still, Elisa regarded her calmly and replied, "Do you think I would lie about the matter? What makes you think I can deceive everyone in this massive corporation? Did you even bother to check what I mentioned? Do you think people in the company approve anything I say?"
The woman frowned and opened her mouth but could find nothing to argue back. Thus, she fell silent.
Before anyone could say anything to Elisa, Norman said, "In that case, why don't you explain how you contacted Rene? What did you discuss, and how are you sure that we have a chance to collaborate with her?"
Norman's questions were sharp and direct.
Since the matter had come to this, he naturally had to ask such questions as a chairman. Even though he did not wish to carry out any projects negotiated by Elisa, a collaboration with Rene was too lucrative and substantial that he could not bear to let it go.
Moreover, people would despise him if he rejected the project straight away. They would hate him for denying them the opportunity to earn a massive profit and withdraw their support from him.
Therefore, Norman did not have a choice.
Meanwhile, Linda clenched her fists under the table. Since Elisa was right next to her, she felt the urge to reach over and pinch Elisa's thigh to let out her fury.
Elisa looked at Norman calmly and seemed unbothered by his questions.
On the other hand, James smiled at Norman and deliberately said with annoyance, "Mr. Benett, speaking of this matter, I have a couple of complaints against you."
Everyone was stunned.
Even Norman was shocked. James has always been reasonable. He would still be sensible even if he's against me. But why is he…
