Chapter 940 Elisa Made Her Move
Although James's words were pertinent, they caused Norman's expression to darken considerably.
"Are you accusing me of mismanaging the company?"
Norman's position as the chairman put him above everyone in the meeting room, allowing him to speak freely.
Everyone had a troubled expression, but James smiled at Norman.
"What I said is the truth. Our company is unable to turn around from decline on its own. This will reduce the sale of Elisa's designs and damage her reputation."
Norman frowned and glanced at someone on his side. The man sneered and argued, "It's wrong for you to say that. Since Elisa is one of us, she must serve this company. Then, we will be able to turn around our situation. Moreover, we haven't started marketing the products yet, so no one knows how the sales will be. If the product doesn't sell well, how do we know it's the company's problem or Rene's incompetence?"
He was pushing the blame on her.
Elisa sneered in her mind. She knew there would be many critics, such as him, once she revealed her identity. She had already prepared for them.
However, James had advised her to speak less during the meeting and let him do the talking instead.
He knew the harsh words she would have been exposed to and wanted to shield her from them.
Then, James looked at them with a vague smile and taunted, "I only have this to say. Do you want to collaborate with Rene or not?"
His words brought back the focus of this meeting.
Rene Caovilla!
She will bring us a fortune!
If we collaborate with her, we will have an unending income stream!
As long as she keeps designing, we will get free money. Who would be stupid enough to refuse this chance?
James smirked faintly. "I believe we should vote on this matter today. Let's vote based on the rules set by the late chairman. As long as half of the people in this room vote in favor of the collaboration, it shall proceed. I will start first. I wish to say I'm honored to have the chance to work with Liz."
Jessie said right after James, "I agree."
"I'm also honored to have this chance."
"Me too."
"Same with me."
People on James' side voiced their support one after another. However, their numbers were few. They would still need four people from Norman's side to vote to reach the required quota in favor of the collaboration.
Still, James did not seem worried and waited leisurely.
This collaboration was an easy fortune. Although some people may appear to be on Norman's side, it was only an act. Norman was the chairman, so naturally, some people would flatter him, hoping to gain more benefits. However, would they still side with him when Norman stood in their way of a significant gain?
Someone said, "I think this is an advantageous collaboration, so I agree."
Everyone on Norman's side looked at the speaker. They knew he was Norman's most eager bootlicker and did not expect him to be the first to abandon Norman.
After he spoke, those who wanted the collaboration could no longer remain silent.
Within a few minutes, four more people voted in favor of it.
More than half of the people voted in agreement to have the collaboration.
Elisa pursed her lips. The result was within her expectation.
On the other hand, Norman seemed sullen. He knew he would lose more supporters if he did not make his stance known.
