And so, he called Gareth. However, Gareth did not say a word after picking up the call.
Vincent was used to Gareth being taciturn, so he went straight to the point. "Is Elisa up to some plans recently?"
"Why do you ask?" Gareth frowned slightly and dismissed his intention to hang up.
After all, Vincent often called him to talk nonsense.
Vincent realized something upon perceiving Gareth's tone. "So, it's true."
"What happened?"
Vincent tutted. "A relative called me just now. He's a shareholder of Benett Corporation, and he asked me to help check a share transfer agreement."
Gareth lifted his brows. "I guess Elisa has asked Norman for his shares."
Vincent was surprised. Crossing his legs, he clicked into the agreement and said nonchalantly, "She's very bold, but this could be a chance for Norman to take advantage of any loopholes. She must be very confident to give him a fatal blow."
Gareth snorted. "Do you think Elisa is someone who would take action recklessly?"
After reading one page of the agreement, Vincent smirked. "No wonder Elisa can be so bold – this agreement has tons of loopholes."
Gareth narrowed his eyes and did not reply.
Vincent finished perusing the document in no time and laughed in spite of himself. "Dear Mr. Wickam, I'm the one who can make the call now. What would you like me to do? Shall I point the loopholes out?"
Obviously, Vincent was asking the question as a joke because he would surely follow Gareth's instruction. After all, Gareth was concerned about Elisa.
However, Gareth suddenly recalled the harsh words that Elisa had said to him. She said they were unrelated and asked him to mind his business and not control her life. She said he had no rights to do so because they had divorced.
At once, Gareth was filled with anger and sneered, "What does that have to do with me?"
"Tsk. Are you really going to sit back?"
Gareth snorted and gave no response. His intention was clear.
Vincent took a dig at him without hesitating. "Why is it so hard to admit that you like Elisa? She's fighting alone now, and Will will not let go of any chance. You don't take the initiative and keep pushing her away. Not only that, you even plan to sit back now. You will regret it sooner or later."
Gareth's expression turned sulky, and he hung up immediately.
Vincent was annoyed at Gareth's response and sent him a message via WhatsApp.
'Go ahead and be arrogant, you jerk! You're gonna regret it someday!'
When Gareth read the message, his eyes fixed on the words 'regret it'.
Regret it? Elisa is a completely different person now. She's extremely aggressive and ambitious. She's also involved in an ambiguous relationship with another man! Why would I regret it? Such a woman doesn't deserve me!
Gareth put his phone on the table and continued working.
On the other hand, Vincent was not surprised to receive no reply from Gareth. So, he clicked into the agreement again.
