Chapter 965 Unafraid
Elisa is expecting my answer!
Elisa is expecting my answer!
No, I must call Rose!
...
Elisa's house.
Rachel, Sheena, and Carle were present.
It's been a while since they last got together.
The three were not idle and helped as Elisa prepared a food table.
Rachel was eager to start eating as soon as everyone had settled down. Rachel exclaimed, "Ah! I can finally eat Elisa's cooking again!"
Sheena couldn't help but laugh. She added, "You're the greediest! But yes, I, too, miss Elisa's cooking."
Rachel huffed and said, "See! You miss it too. You're such a hypocrite!"
Carle smiled and picked up his fork.
Even though Elisa's wounds had nearly healed, nobody allowed her to consume alcohol. They all opted for juice.
After a toast, Rachel turned her gaze to Elisa. Rachel remarked, "Elisa, you stated you'd sue the Benett family. Are they not afraid?"
Elisa mumbled, "Um."
Carle frowned and said, "You've already warned them of action. How could they not be?"
Sheena thought it was absurd as well and chuckled. She added, "Why are those people so calm at a time like this? Are they still holding on? It's ridiculous."
Elisa remained neutral and commented, "Recently, they've consulted many lawyers to review the contract for the shares I transferred before. They all insisted that there was no issue. They believe I'm lying to them as an act of intimidation."
"Oh my god... they have the nerve," scoffed Rachel.
Sheena calmly said, "Theoretically, the legal representative they sought ought to be knowledgeable and skilled. It should be the same case for the lawyer who wrote the share transfer contract. They thus feel that Elisa is purposely exploiting her persona as Iris and has no other option. They believe she is creating a big deal out of nothing."
Carle nodded and replied, "That's right. They won't hand over the shares from your threats alone. They'll believe that yielding to you equals falling into your trap."
Elisa shrugged. "Whatever. The company knows how bad things are between Norman and me and understands their moral standings. Whatever they want to say, let them. I'll radically restructure the business in the next two weeks," said Elisa.
Carle agreed, "And obtaining those shares is the main goal of the restructuring. In actuality, going public is beneficial as well."
Elisa smiled, "Let's not talk about that now. Dine in, everyone."
Rachel, though, gave her a worried glance. She argued, "They attempted to harm you not long ago. That won't work if you issue them with another court summons; I can tell you that much. It would be best to have some bodyguards on your side, Elisa. Just in case!"
Elisa's eyes flickered. She said, "I know."
"Knowing is not enough, Elisa. Action is required. Carle, you should fill that post!" Sheena's displeasure increased as she talked. She fixed a determined gaze on Carle.
Carle nodded and said, "Okay, I'll handle that."
Rachel also gave Elisa a rugged look. She prompted, "Elisa, at this time, you really shouldn't be alone. Otherwise, none of us will feel at ease. During the upcoming several days, we'll spend the night with you! Why not invite Carle as well? I won't feel comfortable unless a man is in the house."
