No Chance of Remarriage Get Lost (Elisa) novel Chapter 977

Chapter 977 The Microphone Was Muted!

Realizing that they were about to release the recording, Norman quickly interjected, "Your honor, she's lying! I would never do something like this. You can't…"

The judge frowned. He was displeased by how Norman acted but responded courteously, "True or false? The evidence needs to be examined once it's been presented."

Norman, "!!!"

What must he do?! What can he do?!

He didn't know if Elisa's recording was real. But they had plotted to kill Nelson. What would they do if she really did have a recording of them saying these things?

He was panicking.

He turned to the lawyer next to him, "Quick! Think of something!!"

His lawyer looked close to tears. He mumbled, "There's nothing much we can do, Mr. Benett. True or not, we must listen to the recording before refuting it."

Norman clenched his teeth.

The court officer looked at Norman with disgust—the audacity of this man, asking for more accommodations after doing something so despicable.

The recording was played for everyone to hear.

"Time is of the essence! He's just taken his medicine. We need to go to move on to the next step. Quick!"

Elisa pressed pause. "Let me explain. The person talking right now is my aunt, Rose Meek, also known as Norman Benett's wife."

Rose, "!!!"

Damn it!!

Where did Elisa find this recording?! How did she get her hands on it?!

Linda also started panicking!

Elisa pressed play.

"Hey… He has one foot in the grave. It's only been a few days since he had his heart attack. Why the rush? This company will be ours sooner or later."

Elisa paused it again. "This is my cousin's voice. Linda Benett, Rose's daughter."

Linda, "!!!"

That b*tch!!!

Sensing eyes on her, Linda stayed still. She didn't want them to see any malice in her.

She arranged her features to look innocent and aggrieved.

Norman clenched his teeth. He wanted to say something. He started to speak when… He realized that they muted his microphone!

He grabbed his lawyer's microphone to find that it had been muted too!

He was furious! They were blatantly prejudiced against them! Why couldn't they speak?!

Elisa refused to look at him. She fiddled with her recorder.

"Don't worry. I've got everything under control. I've handled whatever needs to be dealt with regarding the company. I've contacted the shareholders that support me. They've all agreed that they'll stick with me. Once Norman is out of the picture, I'll make Elisa transfer her shares to me. Problem solved."

"Okay." Rose answered, "Get the contracts ready. One is to relinquish the inheritance, and the other is the transfer of shares."

"Yes. I've hired the best lawyer in town to draft the agreement. There shouldn't be any problems."

Linda smiled. "Finally, Nelson Benett is going to kick the bucket! Everything will finally be ours! I won't ever have to suck up to both of them ever again!! It's been so difficult having to put up with this act for so many years!!"

Her voice rose into a screech.
