No Chance of Remarriage Get Lost (Elisa) novel Chapter 994

Chapter 994 I Want the Truth

"What should we do?" Even Rose was fretting. She would never have made such a comment but thought about the next course of action. But now, she did not know what to do. This was their last resort. Not only did Elisa reject it, but she became angrier upon hearing the recording!

What do we do now?!

"We shouldn't have played the recording!" Linda said while chewing on her lip.

Norman started the car and said through gritted teeth, "It doesn't matter if we played it for her or not. Things have come to this!"

"No! I want to call that secretive person!" Linda shouted.

Norman furrowed his brows but said nothing.

Rose did not support Linda's idea but did not know what else she could do. She exhaled deeply. "Try calling her. You must hold a high value to her if she's willing to use you. She wouldn't want to watch your downfall. It might be a loss for her if our family falls."

Linda was on pins and needles. She took her phone out and immediately dialed a number.

As usual, the person did not pick up her call. A moment later, her phone rang. Everyone in the car was holding their breath. Rose looked at the phone with immense anticipation. Linda nervously picked up.

"What's the problem?" An annoyed voice said without giving Linda a chance to speak.

"Something big had happened!!" Linda immediately blurted.

"What happened?" The person on the other end of the call tightened her brows. Linda could feel the annoyance in the child-like voice. She dared not blabber on and told the person the main points.

The person's brows tightened even more.

"What… What should I do? You must help me!" Linda begged.

"How can I help you when you're like that?" The person's eyes darkened.

"How…? What?! You can't do this to me!" Linda fretted.

"Did you really kill the person?" The voice asked seriously.

There was a slight change in Linda's expression. Rose saw it and waved her hand at her with a determined look.

Linda knew what Rose was trying to express, even without words. She hurriedly replied, "Of course not! Elisa thought we killed her father because she also thinks I want to steal her husband and inheritance. That is not the case!"

"How can I help if you're not telling the truth?" The person on the other end snickered coldly.

"I am telling the truth." Linda's face was blanched of color.

"Alright. They won't have any evidence since you're telling the truth. There won't be a problem as long as you deny it."

Rose's face darkened again, and Linda clamored, "No, that's not it. She has evidence that could implicate us. She even submitted it to court today. She wouldn't do that if she weren't sure."

The voice giggled in a high pitch. "I can't help you if you don't speak the truth. I also don't know what the evidence is. There won't be a problem if it is fake."

The speaker hung up.
