"What do you want?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Serena, no matter what, we're acquaintances. I got sick, and Julian brought me to the hospital. We just happened to run into you, so I thought we'd say hello." Elena was still putting on her innocent, delicate act.
I nodded slowly. "Alright, you've said hello. Can you leave now?"
"Serena, why are you at the hospital?" Elena completely ignored my words. "Are you sick too? You didn't come here alone, did you? No one's here with you?"
Before I could respond, Lucas spoke up. "Lady, every word you say is just to show off that you have someone taking care of you. But Serena isn't sick—she's perfectly fine. She doesn't want to talk to you. So, if you two are done with your check-up, just leave."
Julian suddenly sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "No wonder you're afraid to see us. Serena, did you find yourself another rich man to cling to? Are you afraid he'll find out about what happened before?"
He was really like a buzzing mosquito—completely useless, yet always making noise. He annoyed everyone around him. The worst part was that he had zero self-awareness.
"What's so bad about clinging to a rich man?" I raised an eyebrow and looked him up and down with open disdain.
"If I remember correctly, you were nothing more than a kept man I used to support. Do you really think you have the right to question me?"
"You—" Julian was clearly furious. He stepped forward, but Lucas immediately positioned himself in front of me.
"Listen, buddy, if you want to talk things out peacefully, we can do that. But if you keep this up, don't blame me for not being polite."
There was a cold edge to Lucas' voice. Suddenly, a group of bodyguards dressed in black appeared behind Julian.
Julian glanced back at the burly men and immediately lost some of his bravado. He turned back to glare at Lucas. "Who the hell are you?"
