No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 123

Noelle watched Xenia flounder, a cold smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She hadn't expected to see the bitch so panicked.

Xenia quickly turned to Frank. "Frank, since I indirectly caused this issue, I'll find out if Isaac was bribed to do this."

Noelle sneered. "Wasn't it you?"

Xenia's expression changed when Noelle finished her sentence, and she felt a surge of panic. She couldn't be sure if Noelle possessed any other evidence.

She quickly tried to explain, "Noelle, how could I do something like that? I know you're angry because I didn't stand by you earlier, but I promise it has nothing to do with me."

After speaking, she looked to Frank for help. But he simply frowned and remained silent.

Noelle's gaze was icy. "Fine. Swear then. If it turns out you were the one behind this, may you be struck by lightning, meet a miserable end, and end up as a beggar on the streets!"

Xenia bit her lip, reluctant to swear. She didn't want to curse herself into poverty. She had worked so hard just to become rich.

With a pitiful expression, Xenia turned to Frank. "Frank, I swear it wasn't me. I'll apologize, but making me swear like that is too much."

Frank instinctively felt Xenia had a point. An apology should be enough. Why insist on a swear?

Sensing an opportunity, James told Frank, "Mr. Liddell, if Ms. Quigley didn't do it, then a swear wouldn't really matter, right? But if she's unwilling, could it mean she's guilty?"

James had never liked Xenia. He found her too good at pretending.

With tears in her eyes, Xenia gazed at Frank, her expression filled with feigned innocence. In the past, he would have softened at such a sight.

As she returned to her seat, the colleagues around her spoke in hushed tones, though still careful.

"I heard she's the real heiress of the Liddell family. We've all been misled by that fake one."

"Who would have thought the adopted one would look even more like the real heiress? It's unbelievable."

When Xenia stepped out, her face was a picture of embarrassment. Now, everyone knew she was the imposter. She couldn't stay in the office any longer. It felt like everyone was mocking her.

She had to find a way to silence Isaac, so she got up and left her seat.

Noelle, having finished her work, integrated the code into the software. Her task was complete. After organizing the files, she knocked on the door to Bobby's office.
