That explained why Frank kept saying that Noelle had been hurt. Lucas failed to comprehend why until now.
Donovan frowned. "Lucas, don't stand up for Noelle just yet. The investigation will yield the truth."
Noelle crossed her arms. "I agree."
"You won't repent till there's concrete evidence."
Donovan turned to the investigators and said resignedly, "As you've seen, she's always been rebellious. I'm not surprised that she would do something like this. You don't have to take heed and save her reputation. Do what must be done."
He hoped that Noelle could turn over a new leaf after this.
Xenia was vibrating with excitement. She'd finally toppled Noelle from her throne. Why did Noelle get to be valedictorian while her grades were so bad she couldn't even get into a third-rate university?
If Xenia got bad grades, Noelle would suffer with her.
The leader looked at Noelle and asked, "I hope you can be honest with us. Did you cheat or not?"
Noelle answered coldly, "I didn't. You've asked me all this already. Is there any meaning in repeating it?"
He was surprised. "This is our first time speaking to you. What do you mean by that?"
It was Noelle's turn to be surprised. "That doesn't seem right. There was an investigation in school a few days ago."
She was right. Their second investigation was out of the ordinary.
He glanced between Noelle and Xenia. "Which of you is Xenia?"
