Chapter 49
Cedric looked at Alfred coldly and asked, “Why are you here?”
Alfred replied, “I had nothing to do, so I decided to come over and accompany you.”
“Well, you can leave now,” Cedric said as he walked away.
However, Alfred continued to follow him. He said, “Don’t be so heartless. I don’t want to leave yet.”
He proceeded to shamelessly look into Cedric’s plastic bag. “Chocolates and sweets? Are these for Noelle’s period?”
Cedric said coldly, “That’s right.”
“If I hadn’t witnessed it myself, I would not have believed that you were actually out buying women’s products–with chocolates and sweets at that. How considerate of you.”
After all, Cedric had never been that gentle or attentive to anyone from the opposite sex since a young age. Girls had always been the ones circling Cedric.
“Be mindful, and don’t scare her,” Cedric instructed before returning to the apartment. He walked over to the bathroom and knocked on the door. “I’m back with the goods.”
Noelle made her way over. Her face had quickly turned red when she heard his voice. She proceeded to crack open the door and reached out her slender hands.
Cedric handed the plastic bag to her, and her hand immediately sank from its weight. She
wondered how many items he had bought.
She closed the door and smiled when she saw the different brands of sanitary pads inside. She
figured that he probably didn’t know which type she used, so he had bought them all.
Once she had changed, Noelle emerged from the bathroom only to find a man sitting on the couch. She didn’t recognize the man, and she felt slightly awkward.
Alfred waved at her. “Hello, kiddo! I’m Cedric’s friend.”
“Oh, it’s you.” Noelle knew that she was staying at Cedric’s friend’s place. He had also helped them vacate that restaurant and throw Frank and Xenia out.
Alfred asked, “Did Cedric ever mention me? Did he say any bad things about me?”
“No. I just wanted to thank you in person for letting me stay in your apartment.
Alfred smiled. “Don’t worry. I have many houses, so I won’t drop by often either.”
At that moment, Cedric came out of the kitchen with a cup of hot chocolate and handed it to Noelle.
