Chapter 53 

Noelle remained rooted to her spot as she looked at Lucas calmly. She said, “That’s right.” 

“Very well then!” Lucas immediately ripped out the IV drip from Xenia’s arm and carried her. ” Let’s go. We won’t get treated here.” 

Xenia quietly wrapped her arms around Lucas‘ neck, secretly feeling smug. Lucas walked over to the door and looked at the pouring rain. 

Considering his small umbrella, he looked at the big one in Noelle’s hand and said righteously, “Give me your umbrella. This small one is enough for you.” 

Noelle found the situation ridiculous. She questioned, “Why would I?” 

“Because you’re why Xenia is sick, so it’s only right that you give us your umbrella.” 

Cedric walked over, his expression stoic, and stomped on the small umbrella Lucas had kicked over. 

His gaze was cold as he said, “You lot could demand things from her because she had treated you all like her brothers. Now that she no longer sees you as family, do you think you still have the right to demand anything?” 

Lucas felt like he was about to explode. “Noelle, are you sure you want to act like this and make everyone’s life difficult? First, you go and get yourself involved with this man, and now you’re turning against your family?” 

Noelle remained quiet as she took the big umbrella and made her way to Lucas. Her eyes were dark as she opened the umbrella and covered herself from the pouring rain. 

Lucas‘ expression remained neutral as he said, “It’s not too late for you to return to your senses. That school doctor has bad intentions, and he’s just trying to take advantage of you!” 

A second later, Noelle reached out to slap him. The slap left Lucas utterly stunned. 

Lucas would’ve thought he was dreaming if it weren’t for the stinging pain on his cheek. He hadn’t even thought to dodge as he was holding Xenia in his arms. He also couldn’t believe that Noelle had actually dared to hit him. 

Seeing the situation unfold before her, Xenia quickly said, “Noelle, how can you slap Lucas? Even if you aren’t willing to swap umbrellas, you shouldn’t hit him-‘ 

Before she could finish her sentence, she shrieked as Noelle reached out to slap her, too. And just like that, the world fell silent.
