No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Noelle looked up at Lionel and saw Frank standing outside of her classroom. She pursed her lips and ended up walking out toward him.

She remained indifferent, saying, “You had better not say a single word if you’re here to tell me to take notes for Xenia.”

She didn’t even need to think to know that Frank had come to her school to help Xenia apply for sick leave. Based on Frank’s track record, Noelle knew that he was definitely here to make her take notes for Xenia. He would probably even ask her to bring back all of Xenia’s homework.

Frank was immediately filled with a tightness in his chest. “Noelle, is that really what you think of me?”

Noelle was beginning to lose her patience. “Are we done here or not?”

“Noelle, I remember that you always used to do well in school. However, your grades started becoming unstable and had gotten worse over time.

“Was it because of Xenia? Did you deliberately score similarly to her or intentionally try to score worse than her?”

Noelle paused, her eyes filled with confusion. She wondered how he had learned about this. She didn’t think that there was a point in bringing this up now.

Frank immediately understood that he had guessed correctly when he saw the look in her eyes. He felt sad. Why had they never noticed the change in Noelle? Why had they never noticed that Noelle was also always very kind toward Xenia?

Perhaps they did, but they had grown accustomed to favoring Xenia, who had started out in their family as an outsider. But as time went on, they had also grown used to ignoring Noelle’s

need for attention.

Noelle was slightly annoyed. She asked, “What’s the point of you asking me these questions? Don’t you have anything else better to do?”

“Noelle, you just have to give me a simple yes or no answer.”

“What’s the point in you asking me that?”

Noelle took a step back and increased the distance between them. She looked at him stubbornly and said, “Frank, if you’re really here to apologize or to make things right with me, then please don’t come and bother me until the college entrance exams are over.”

Frank smiled bitterly. The guarded look in her eyes was like a stab to his heart! Noelle truly did not trust them. Ultimately, he said with difficulty, “Alright. I promise you that.”

Noelle looked down. “Thank you.”

“Noelle, you don’t have to thank me for anything

“He’ll definitely ruin your exam preparations and probably cause trouble for that school doctor.
