Noelle glanced at Wyatt and effortlessly pried his fingers away.
Wyatt's hand trembled from the pain. He stared at his fingers in shock and hadn't expected Noelle to be so strong. Realizing Xenia was beside him, he immediately felt humiliated.
He pointed a finger at Noelle and cursed, "I'm warning you, Noelle! My leg wouldn't have ended this way if it hadn't been for you! And now, how dare you disrespect me!"
Noelle scoffed. "I've actually been meaning to ask; did they cut off your brain too when you had your leg amputated?"
She remembered Wyatt had been fairly normal before the accident.
Wyatt's face flushed with rage. "You're the reason my leg was amputated, so how dare you mock me! I'll have Donovan teach you a lesson!"
Standing beside Noelle, Cedric scoffed. "It was your dear Donovan who escaped responsibilities and refused to answer calls that led to you ending up this way. Noelle was the one who made the call to save your life. Too bad she saved an ungrateful mutt."
Wyatt refused to listen. He believed his life had spiraled into tragedy after losing his leg. Otherwise, he would've won Xenia over.
Noelle took Cedric's arm. "Let go. Let's not waste time on someone like him."
"Stop right there, Noelle! Who said you could leave!"
Wyatt was completely losing it. He'd never expected Noelle to ignore him completely. Before, she'd always felt guilty and did whatever he asked. How had she changed so much in just a short time?
Noelle got into the car. As she was about to leave, she saw Wyatt fall out of his wheelchair and look absolutely pathetic.
Her gaze flickered, but she didn't get out. If this had been in her past life, she would've rushed over worried sick. But when Frank took her kidney for Xenia in her past life, it was Wyatt who'd wheeled her into the operating room.
Cedric noticed her silence and slammed on the gas pedal to drive away. Watching from the side, Xenia found Wyatt's helpless state utterly humiliating. She wanted nothing more than to turn and walk away.
But now that Donovan was displeased with her, the disabled Wyatt was the only one she could rely on. She forced herself to endure her disgust and hurried over to help Wyatt up. Wyatt clung to her hand tightly. "Xenia, I promise you, you'll be fine. I'll protect my girlfriend."
