Noelle heard Lucas' voice but didn't bother to respond.
The dungeon raid had begun, and Noelle was fighting monsters alongside her teammates.
Lucas, however, kept following her around, persistently asking, "What's your deal? Not satisfied with our terms? What more do you want from us?"
He was clearly anxious. He didn't know what to do for the finals if he couldn't recruit suitable teammates by the end of the month.
Noelle frowned. Did Lucas forget there were other players on the team? Wasn't he worried about people recognizing who he was?
Soon after, a male voice came through. "Hey, isn't that the leader of Team Luminark? If you want to recruit someone, you should at least be nice about it!"
"I know, right? Instead of recruiting, he sounded more like he was reprimanding."
"Ms. Nelly, you should consider joining Team Celestial! I heard they have a good reputation and great perks."
The mention of Team Celestial instantly set Lucas off. "She's not allowed to!" He absolutely refused to let that happen.
Lucas had always had a good attitude. That was until that day when he realized that SweetNelly might actually be Noelle. He lost his composure.
"Stop being so arrogant. It's Ms. Nelly's choice which team she joins."
"Exactly. Mind your own business!"
Lucas was enraged. "What does it have to do with you?"
After all, the streamer was probably his sister. So he could speak to her however he wanted. Outsiders had no say in the matter. At that point, Noelle finally intervened. She said, "Stop arguing. The boss is coming."
"Okay, okay. We'll listen to you."
If she really were Noelle, wouldn't that make everything he'd said before a joke? Lucas wasn't ready to face that possibility. He told James, "Find someone else."
"We're not recruiting the streamer anymore?"
"Just do as I say! There's no way we can't find someone better than her."
There was a raging fire in his heart. Seeing how skilled the streamer was only made his feelings more complicated. If Noelle really were SweetNelly, was she playing him just to make a fool of him?
When Noelle finished her dungeon runs, she noticed that Lucas had already logged off. She wondered if it was because he couldn't handle the embarrassment.
Noelle knew Lucas well and that he had a high ego. She contemplated if that day's events were a huge slap to his face. However, she didn't give it much thought.
She felt tired and left the study to grab some water.
