No Memory No Mercy novel Chapter 9

After what happened at the pool, I was no longer surprised to learn such information.

After all, in a life-or-death situation where he had to choose between us, he had chosen to save Alicia without the slightest hesitation.

Compared to that, this was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

I laughed coldly.

“So what if she’s at the company?

Why can’t I be there too?”

I was going!

And not only was I going, I was hoping that I’d bump into her too!

I was Jonathan’s lawful wife!

Why would I be avoiding her, the mistress?

I was no longer Elise at 25 years old, who lowered herself for love so pathetically.

It’d be best if she were there, and even better yet if I caught her and Jonathan in the middle of something.

I would catch them red-handed and file for a divorce straight away!

Bob was silent the entire journey.

He kept peeking at me from the rearview mirror.

Though he remained polite, clear disdain was written on his face, as though he was saying, “Just as I thought.”

So, I looked straight back at him and asked, “What is it?

Is there something you’d like to say?”

As it turned out, Bob did have something to say.

He let out a sigh and turned the steering wheel.

As he did so, he said, “Mr.Ford is really busy, Ms.Sawyer.

If you keep causing scenes like this, you’re just going to push him further away…”

He adopted a reprimanding tone.

If even an assistant could talk down to me like this, it only went to show just how pitiful my image before Jonathan was.

“Your suicide attempt alone gave Mr.

Ford enough of a headache!

And he always had to clean things up for you every time you created trouble for Ms.Zimmer.

“The more you do that, the more he’d see Ms.Zimmer as gentle and considerate.

Even if there’s nothing between them now, you’ll push him right into her arms eventually.”

I raised a brow and answered aloofly, “Well, get him to divorce me, then.

I’m not stopping him.”

Bob shot me a peculiar look.

Then, he quickly resumed his well-meaning, lecture-like tone.

“Now that Mr.Ford isn’t here, speaking out of anger isn’t going to help with anything!

I understand that you’re disappointed because of what happened at the pool, but he had his reasons, didn’t he?

“When you brought up divorce, I’m sure you were just trying to provoke him.
