"I don't know," I murmured, staring blankly at the white wall in front of me. "I really miss him. I wish he could just show up in front of me. But then I remember he lied to me even though he was fine, and it makes me want to give him a piece of my mind, maybe even punch him."
Fanny nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll back you up. Let's give him what for. How dare he put you through all this emotional and physical pain."
The injury on my knee was a good enough excuse to take a break, especially since I could hardly walk the next day due to the pain. But I could only afford to rest for a day, because the light show was scheduled for the day after next. I had impulsively added a human light show element, something I needed to oversee personally.
So there I was, limping my way to the venue of the light show, and Grant Smith, upon seeing me, was taken aback. "No way it's that bad. Should I get you a wheelchair?"
I pulled up my pant leg to show him my wound, and his eyes widened in shock. "Holy cow, that looks terrible. I thought it was just a minor scrape. Did you get it checked out?"
"It's fine, it's not going to kill me," I replied, as a group of handsome men in uniform black shirts and trousers approached. Their entrance was nothing short of spectacular, instantly capturing everyone's attention.
"Are those the models you hired? Absolutely stunning," Grant admired.
"Sapphire Lounge only delivers the best," I said as the models came closer.
Just as I was about to ask who among them was in charge, a luxury car pulled up, and out stepped Allen Clark, wearing sunglasses and dressed in casual white attire.
"Check them out, Felicia," Allen said, clearly pleased with himself.
"Indeed, impressive. Thank you," I didn't skimp on my praise.
"We're short one, though. Weren't there supposed to be seven?" Grant, ever observant, counted the heads.
I looked at Allen, who pointed towards the restroom. "One's got a bit of a stomach issue, but he'll be here in no time. Won't delay your event."
"Alright, let them go try on their costumes and get in formation," I said, checking the time. "Tell your guy to hurry up and get in position."
