No More Waiting, She Chooses Love novel Chapter 685

I wasn't certain if Conrad would resort to violence, but the situation was uncomfortable enough as it was, so I turned and left without using the wheelchair.

“What a bunch of fools,” Fanny muttered as she hurried over to help steady me.

She pushed me out of sight before stopping. “Felicia, did he have a mole on his neck? Could it have been removed? Did you feel any scars?”

She asked because she still had doubts about Phipps not being Ernest. After all, his face was eerily similar to Ernest's.

I shook my head gently. I was skeptical too and had been feeling around his neck for any signs.

Seeing my reaction, Fanny looked confused as well. She helped me sit down and asked again, “So, do you think he's Ernest?”

Sometimes intuition is more reliable than what we see, especially when appearances can be deceiving nowadays.

I was unsure. Initially, I thought he was Ernest, merely assuming a new identity and pretending not to recognize me. But his indifference when he threatened to call the police, and the disdain in his eyes left me uncertain.

Ernest loved me. He crafted a bell bracelet for me, ordered rings, which I still wore. He would have noticed them.

If Phipps really were Ernest, he wouldn't have been so cold and unfeeling toward me.

“Felicia, if you're sure he's not Ernest, then let's just consider him a stranger,” Fanny suggested, likely trying to protect me from further distress.

I remained silent, and Fanny sighed, “There's another way. We could get his DNA tested. Isn't he part of the Collins family? You could ask his sister or someone from the Collins family for a DNA test.”

“But he and Susie Collins aren't biological siblings,” I pointed out, causing Fanny to pause.

“The Collins family, then?” Fanny mused, then shook her head. “I doubt they'd cooperate with you.”

“If you had a child with Ernest, we could have tested that,” Fanny lamented.

A DNA test seemed impossible, yet that didn't mean there were no other options.
