No More Waiting, She Chooses Love novel Chapter 780

My connection with her was all because of Conrad, though now he's nothing more than a distant memory for both of us.

Life sure is unpredictable like that.

"So, you haven't seen him lately?" I asked with a faint smile.

Haley was straightforward as usual. "Nope."

"Missing him, are you?" I teased with a playful tone.

"A little," Haley admitted without hesitation.

"Well, if you miss him, go find him," I encouraged.

Haley's lips curled into a sardonic smile. "If I knew where to find him, I wouldn't be asking you, would I?"

This woman always spoke to me like she was ready for a fight, with a sharp edge in her voice.

The more fiery she got, the calmer I remained. "It's funny how the guy who used to be at your beck and call is now just a ghost of the past... Men, right? So unpredictable."

"Felicia Hudson, spare me the sarcasm," Haley shot back, clearly irritated.

I looked at her, so different from the woman I once knew, and wondered what Conrad would think if he saw her now.

"Haley, do you ever regret it?" I asked, leaning against the doorway.

"No," she replied firmly, without a flicker of doubt.

Her quick denial was a dead giveaway that she did have regrets, trying hard to hide her true feelings.

"If you hadn't been so focused on chasing wealth, you and Aiden could've been really happy together," I mused.

Haley stayed silent, and I couldn't help but reflect, "After all that's happened, I've realized there's more to life than money—it's the simple, quiet moments that matter most."
