No More Waiting, She Chooses Love novel Chapter 813

Sinclair gave Mr. Wagner a respectful nod and then approached Jacqueline with genuine sorrow in his eyes.

For a moment, I almost believed Sinclair was here purely to offer his condolences. But after that fierce confrontation with Dustin in the basement, I knew better.

"Mom," Conrad said, walking over to Jacqueline.

Her eyes were brimming with tears as she nodded, "Put on your mourning clothes and pay your respects to your father."

Conrad seemed to have regained some composure. The housekeeper helped him into his mourning attire, and he stood beside Jacqueline.

There weren't many others present.

They say when the tree falls, the monkeys scatter. It seemed to hold true.

The Wagner family had certainly lost its influence once it passed from Conrad's hands to Dustin's. And with Dustin tangled up with the Clark family, rumors were bound to have reached some ears.

Those who could avoid coming simply did.

The deceased wouldn't know the difference between a crowded room or an empty one.

"Escort Mr. Anderson out!"

Sinclair had just finished his respects when Dustin decided to speak up.

Dustin knew full well Sinclair wouldn't leave so easily, yet he insisted on asking him to go.

"No rush. I'm waiting for my Seven," Sinclair replied, glancing at Fanny.

She caught on quickly, linking her arm with mine, "I'll stay with Felicia."

I wasn't going anywhere. Jacqueline needed support, and with Fanny by my side, Sinclair had a reason to linger.

Dustin's eyes flashed with a mix of defiance and anger, but there was little he could do. This was, after all, a place for mourning.
