No More Waiting, She Chooses Love novel Chapter 836

Fanny had a dream, one that whisked her back to her childhood. She was trailing behind Sinclair, her uncle, though she preferred calling him by his first name. “Uncle Sinclair, pick me up, I’m so tired,” she’d plead.

Sinclair would stop, waiting patiently as she reached out with her little hands. When he finally lifted her, she’d wrap her arms around his neck like a snug scarf.

Even then, Fanny was a mischievous little sprite, always up to some antics—blowing air into Sinclair’s ear, nibbling at his neck, or sneaking her hands under his coat.

Sinclair would chuckle softly, “Seven, stop messing around.” He had given her the nickname “Seven” because she was born on the seventh of July, a clever way to remember her birthday.

“Why do you call me that?” she had once asked. Sinclair explained with a grin, “So I never forget your birthday and get in trouble with you.”

“Seven, Seven...” she heard Sinclair’s voice calling her in the dream.

Yet no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t see him. Fanny searched frantically, calling out, “Uncle Sinclair, Uncle Sinclair...”

As she ran, she transformed from a little girl into a young woman, and finally, she found Sinclair. He was standing atop a hill, the wind playfully tugging at his coat. Breathless and a bit annoyed, she called out, “Sinclair, where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you, and I’m exhausted.”

Sinclair stayed silent, just watching her with a gentle gaze.

“I’m tired. Carry me down,” Fanny demanded, reverting to her childish ways as she leaned against his back.

Sinclair obliged, carrying her down the hill. This time, she didn’t tease him; she simply rested quietly on his back, her breath warm against his neck.

“Fanny, you’ve grown up. You can’t always expect me to carry you around,” he said, his voice calm and soothing.

“Are you saying I’m too heavy now?” she teased.

“No, it’s not that...”
