“Okay, then.” 

After a considerable amount of time had passed, Lenora asked again, “Why hasn’t Miranda arrived yet? Zachary, could you please call Miranda again and ask her where she is?” 

“Okay.” 

Zachary stepped out of the car, a cool breeze brushing against his face. 

Susanna, the girl who was originally so gentle and kind, had suffered unbearable hardships because of him. She developed severe depression and had attempted suicide multiple times. 

He had promised her, vowing to take responsibility for her, to spend a lifetime with her, never to part ways. 

He couldn’t go back on his word.

Upon seeing the folder on the table, Miranda quickly responded, “All right, all right.” 

Zachary returned to the car and said to Lenora, “Miranda had a car accident when she was on her way here, so she had to take a detour. She should be arriving soon.” 

“Okay.” 

“Nora.” 

“Hmm?” 

After our divorce, will you marry him?” 

Lenora paused for a moment. “Perhaps.” 

“That’s good to hear. I owe you an apology. I wish for you to be with the one you love, to grow old together, and to have a lifetime of happiness and fulfillment.” 

Suddenly, Lenora felt a sting in her nose and quickly turned away, uttering a soft “Hmm.” 

She could never bring herself to bless his relationship with Susanna. 

He truly didn’t love her. Because of that, he could utter such blessings for her. 

What he didn’t know, however, was that she was about to divorce the person she loved. 

After the divorce, he would get what he wished for, marrying another girl and becoming her husband. They would live as a loving couple, spending the rest of their lives together. 

She would never grow old with him. She would never be truly happy and content. 

“Mr. Fuller, Mrs. Fuller.” The driver knocked on the car window, “Miranda has arrived.” 

“Understood.” Lenora and Zachary each opened their doors and got out of the car. 

Miranda hurried over, handing the folder to Zachary. “Mr. Fuller, I’ve brought this for you.” 

Thank you. I appreciate you making this trip.” 

Zachary looked at Lenora, walked over, and took her hand. “Let’s go. We should head inside. Watch your step.”
