A message was sent in the group chat, stating that everyone should gather at the company’s main entrance after work the following day. The company had arranged for a charter bus to take them to a hot spring resort in the city’s suburbs. They were to head there the night before. 

All in all, the three departments combined had over forty people accommodated in two passenger buses. 

When the department staff arrived for work the following day, they all brought their clothes, toiletries, and other items. As soon as their shift ended, they immediately left arm in arm, their hearts yearning for the hot spring resort. 

By the time Lenora made it downstairs, the company bus was already filled with a handful of employees. She boarded the bus, heading toward the back with her bag in tow. There, she found an empty double seat and settled herself in. 

The employees gradually boarded the bus. 

The car was almost filled to capacity. 

“Ms, Wilkin, may I sit here?” A male voice asked. Lenora looked up at the man and slightly nodded. “Sure.” 

“Thank you.” 

“You’re welcome.” Lenora recognized the person beside her. 

His name was Liam York, an employee from the MF department. 

Liam was originally part of MQ, but was later transferred to MF. 

Furthermore, Liam had once expressed his fondness for Lenora. 

Lenora didn’t respond, and so it was left at that. 

Suddenly, someone said in surprise, “Mr. Fuller, you’re coming, too?” 

Lenora lifted her head and saw Zachary holding a luggage bag as he entered the bus, nodding. 

Yesterday, Zachary had mentioned that he would drive her over.. 

However, Lenora declined, fearing that her colleagues at the company might overthink it 

“What’s the matter? Can’t Mr. Fuller take a break, too?” another person asked with a chuckle. 

The atmosphere within the bus instantly warmed up, with playful banter and lively exchanges 

air.

There were only a few seats left on the bus, either in the middle or at the back. Zachary kept walking until he reached the very end and found a seat to settle down 

Liam withdrew his gaze, his voice hinting a faint surprise. “I didn’t expect Mr. Fuller to be here as well. I always thought work was all he ever did.”

It seemed as though he was speaking to Lenora, yet he also seemed to be talking to himself. 

Lenora didn’t respond. Instead, she leaned against the window, eyes closed in restful repose. 

After a moment, the vehicle set off, heading toward the hot spring resort. 

The bus was buzzing with energy. The employees, who rarely had the chance to unwind, were engaged in uninhibited conversation. 

“Ms. Wilkin, do you have a boyfriend at the moment?” Liam asked suddenly, his voice barely noticeable amidst the clamor of the bus. 

He must have intentionally lowered his voice so as not to be overheard and made a joke of by others. 

Lenora nodded. “Yes.” 

“Is that so? I don’t think anyone has seen him before. Ms. Wilkin, I really do like you. I hope you can give me a chance to pursue you.” 

“Pursue me? Haven’t you heard the rumors going around the company?” Lenora asked curiously. 

Rumors circulated within the company that she had seduced Zachary to secure her position within the Fuller family, becoming his mistress. 

“All those people are just spouting nonsense. I know you’re not that kind of person,” said Liam 

“Thank you for trusting me, but I really do have a boyfriend. It’s just that he’s always busy with work.” 

“Well, all right then.” 

“Hey, what could Liam be discussing with Ms. Wilkin? Surely, he’s not confessing to her?” a laid–back colleague suddenly shifted their gaze toward the two and jokingly remarked. 

“Is what he said true, Liam?” The other colleagues began to tease. 

“Ms. Wilkin, what do you think of Liam? He’s tall, handsome, and capable. Moreover, he’s only got eyes for you. Even if he fails, he’ll try again. Don’t you want to consider giving him a chance?” 

With no other option, Liam stood up and said. “Stop spreading rumors. Nothing of that sort happened.” 

-What’s this? Liam, are you feeling shy?” 

“What’s there to be shy about? If you tell us, we might even be able to help you pursue Ms. Wilkin.” 

Many people were teasing Liam in the bus. 

Zachary was seated in the back, subtly clearing his throat. 

Miles immediately stepped in to defuse the situation. “All right, all right, keep your jokes to yourselves. Don’t talk nonsense in front of the ladies.” 

Only then did the men toned down a bit 

Lenora was just about to continue resting her eyes when she heard a WhatsApp notification sound.

She glanced at her screen. It was a message from Zachary: My room is 0104.

The room arrangements for the employees had been set: two women per room and four men per room. 

Meanwhile, Zachary was in a single room, a presidential suite. 

Lenora responded to the message: This is unnecessary. 

She had roommates, so if she didn’t spend the night in her own room, there was bound to be gossip. 

Zachary: I have a private hot spring pool in my room. 

Lenora hesitated. 

The company had sponsored a team–building trip to the hot springs resort at that time, but they definitely couldn’t arrange a room with a private pool for each person. 

As such, her colleagues were confined to the public pool, but she wasn’t fond of sharing with others. 

In other words, the allure of the private hot spring pool was simply to 

irresistible for her. 

The bus pulled into the hot spring resort, coming to a halt in an open area. One by one, the employees disembarked, following Skylar to the front desk to collect their room keys. 

Skylar sent a message in the group chat: After settling into your rooms this evening, you’re free to do as you please. Tomorrow at noon, we’ll have a barbecue gathering on the restaurant’s second floor. 

Then, she posted a map of the resort in the group chat. 

Cindy Ziegler, a MF staff member, was the female employee who was assigned to share a room with Lenora. 

The two of them first headed to their room to unpack. 

After Cindy sent a message, she asked Lenora. “Ms. Wilkin, I’ve invited a few female colleagues out for dinner. Would you like to join us?” 

Lenora said, “You guys go ahead. I’m not hungry yet. I’ll join you later.” 

“We’ll be heading out first, then.” 

Once Cindy had left, Lenora exited the room, headed to Room 0104, and knocked on the door. 

Zachary opened the door from inside. Upon seeing Lenora, he said, “Come in.” 

Lenora stepped into Room 0104, taking in the layout of the space. It was a presidential suite. The decor and arrangement, along with the provided amenities, were all top–notch and complete. 

Indeed, it was far superior to her own room. 

Outside the room was a private hot spring pool. 

“Are you staying here tonight?” asked Zachary
