Chapter 135
The next day.
At 7 p.m. at the airport.
Connor and Robert purposely made a trip to the airport to pick up Hugh.
Even though they were in the VIP lounge and the people who are surrounding Connor and Robert could not recognize them, they could still tell that they were extraordinary men.
Dressed in casual clothes, both Connor and Robert had good deportment and exuded an aura that made others feel a tad intimidated.
Not to mention that those who could afford to wait at the VIP lounge in Stormton City were mostly well-off and came from wealthy families.
Naturally, they could recognize that Connor and Robert were the legitimate heirs of the Luther Group and Shane Group respectively.
Connor however, was slightly different as compared to Robert.
Connor was carrying a backpack.
It seemed to be quite heavy.
“Gosh, is that Connor and Robert? I had once met them at a banquet that I had attended.”
“The temperament that they are exuding… It’s hard to imagine that they are only in their twenties! It would seem that they are even more charismatic and assertive than some CEOS who are in their forties or fifties!”
“They are so tall and handsome! It’s almost as if they are perfect! Oh man, I really want to approach them and try to fight for a chance for my daughter to get to know them!”
“Come on, I’m sure they have seen all kinds of women. Why would they fall for a daughter from a poor and humble family?”
“If I can muster up the courage to strike up a conversation with them, I might be able to let them remember me! It would be good if my company would get the chance to be able to work with the Luther Group or the Shane Group in the future!”
“Speaking of which, are the two of them that close to each other? Who are they waiting for?”
Amidst the whispers, Connor seemed to have spotted a familiar figure.
Connor ran over excitedly and waved his hands in the air, just like a child.
“Hugh, over here! Over here!”
“Hugh?” Everyone thought to themselves as they looked curiously in the direction where Connor was waving at.
They saw a man who was 6 feet 3 inches tall and was dressed in a custom-made suit. With one hand in his pocket, the man was extremely handsome. There was an oppressive and cold aura that surrounded him, which made him seem to be other-worldly. His facial features were perfectly sculpted and it was flawless to the naked eye.
His obsidian-like eyes were like a bottomless black hole, and his gaze was as though it could pull one’s soul in. Raising his sharp eyebrows and pursing his lips, the man exuded a nobility aura that was innate to him.
Just by looking at him, one would immediately understand that such an existence lived in a completely different world as compared to ordinary people like them.
He was just like a god from the heavens. Someone whom one could only look up to, respect, and obey
without hesitation.
Everyone could not help but hold their breath.
The entire VIP lounge was deathly quiet.
One could have even heard a pin drop.
When Hugh approached Connor and finally stopped before him.
Connor finally put down his backpack.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Connor took out a durian and a keyboard.
Connor then placed both items on the ground.
Everyone was at a loss for words as they thought to themselves.
“What was going on?
“Was Connor going to demonstrate a new technique of using the keyboard to crack the durian open?”
“There, Hugh. I didn’t forget what I had promised you.
“Look here, this is the keyboard and a durian. Choose one and I’ll kneel on it for you.
“Let’s just take it as the earlier matter did not happen, okay? Is that okay?”
Connor begged with teary eyes as he pouted.
Even though Hugh had decided to let Connor off for the moment because of Jane, Connor knew Hugh well.
Connor did not have to rush to take a plane to fly to where Hugh was in order to apologize in person for what had happened.
However, as a close friend of Hugh, there was no way that Connor did not know that Hugh was actually a very petty man.
Especially when it came to the woman Hugh had taken a fancy to.
Connor felt that it was better to apologize to Hugh in person so that he would not be ***by Hugh in the future without him knowing when Hugh will strike.
Hugh was speechless.
Hugh looked at Connor as if he was looking at an idiot.
“Alright Connor, stop disgracing yourself here. If you’re alone, you can feel free to do ***you want.
to.”
Robert said as he smacked the back of Connor’s head hard.
“Ouch! Robert, you son of a ***. Don’t you know how painful that was? You’re going to ***someone!” Connor rubbed his head and suppressed the urge to charge at Robert.
“Damn it! I admit that I’m afraid of Hugh, but I’m not afraid of a son of a ***like Robert! Robert had even caught me off guard and ambushed me! What happened to martial ethics?” Connor thought to himself angrily.
“Let’s go.”
Hugh said coldly as he turned to leave.
Hugh could not be bothered to continue to watch Connor and Robert squabble like kids.
The reason why Hugh had rushed back tonight was not to watch Connor do his performance of kneeling on a durian or a keyboard.
“Hey Hugh, why are you rushing off? Wait for me.”
“What do you mean by Hugh’s rushing off? He’s in a hurry to meet his sweetheart. Do you think Hugh’s
got the time to look at a clown like you, to perform?” Robert said mockingly.
“***you, Robert! Do you really think that I’m a weakling who would keep quiet when being bullied? Are you asking for a beating?” Connor swore.
With that, Hugh, Robert, and Shane left the VIP lounge and disappeared from their sights.
Everyone was at a loss for words.
It was a while later when realization dawned upon them.
Everyone was almost panting and their faces turned pale.
They held their breath and forgot to breathe, leaving them gasping for air.
“Hugh… Could they be referring to D.Y. Group’s Hugh Croft?”
“***! What did I miss? If I had known earlier, I would have gone up to leave an impression in front of Hugh!”
Hugh and the others arrived at a downtown area according to the location given by Jane.
The car could not pass through at all due to the large crowd.
Hence, Hugh and the others could only travel to the location given on foot.
“Um… Hugh, are you sure Jane didn’t give you the wrong location?”
Connor blinked in confusion.
The street was indeed bustling with people.
The streets were teeming with color and excitement and were very lively.
However, it would not be fitting for someone with their social status to dine in such an area.
Was there something wrong with choosing Connor’s Cloudnine Restaurant?
Hugh didn’t say anything. Continuing to follow the map, Hugh and the others arrived at a spicy barbecue restaurant.
Ignoring the curious looks of adoration from the crowd, Hugh sent a message to Jane.
[I’m here. Is it Granny’s Spicy Barbecue Restaurant?]
Jane replied. [Yeah. The three of you can wait at the entrance, I’m coming down now.]
Granny’s Spicy Barbecue Restaurant was indeed very popular.
