No Way Back (Jane and Hugh) by Anna Mac novel Chapter 264

Chapter 264
Jane walked into the ladies’ room and washed her face.
Looking into the mirror, she gently stroked her face with her fingertips.
“This face… doesn’t look special. Is it that eye-catching?
“Those guys are so familiar with me that they even dare to joke around with me.”
She hadn’t realized how attractive she was yet.
At this moment, a cheerful, surprised voice came from the entrance.
“Hi, Mrs. Fowler!”
Leia coincidentally’ met Anna at the entrance of the ladies’ room.
It was obvious.
Leia deliberately arranged for it.
She had been hiding nearby, waiting for a chance to “run into Anna in the ladies’ room.
Then she would try every means to impress Anna.
Anna did not know that Leia was playing tricks.
Because of Aaron’s special attitude towards Leia, Leia’s temperament, and the piano performance, Anna had a favorable impression of Leia.
“Hi, are you Miss Leia Chalmers, who was playing on stage just now? I watched your performance. You played very well.
“I’ve heard so many piano pieces, but I’ve never heard of that one. Can you tell me its name? I want to download it when I return home and listen to it a few more times.”
“Well…”
After freezing for a short while, Leia quickly replied, “Actually, this is a piano piece I composed. I’m lousy at giving names and I can’t figure anything out, so I want Aaron to help me with it.”
Did Leia just say that she composed the piano piece?
Jane raised her eyebrows slightly.
Then…
As if she had thought of something, she curved her lips into a sneer.
It was interesting.
Someone plagiarized her work in front of her!
“Oh?”
The smile on Anna’s smile grew even brighter.
She looked at Leia, her eyes full of admiration.
Anna really liked Leia. At least at first glance, she could not find any flaws in her.
She thought Leia was a good match for Aaron.
They were both renowned pianists who once won prizes in international competitions.
They matched well in appearance, social status, and talent. They were born to be a couple.
It was the first time that Anna had ever met Leia. What’s more, she hadn’t confirmed if Aaron really had feelings for this girl.
Of course, she would not ask Aaron to marry her.
It was up to the two young people whether they would start a relationship or not.
It was fine as long as Leia wasn’t the kind of woman who coveted the Fowler family’s power and deliberately made use of Aaron’s feelings.
The two of them walked into the ladies’ room while chatting cheerfully
The next second, the smile on Anna’s face froze.
That was because she saw Jane.
The first thing that popped into Anna’s mind was that she must be watching things.
How was it possible that she ran into Jane here? That was too much of a coincidence. Anna blinked.
She wanted to confirm that it was not an illusion.
At this moment, she had mixed feelings.
Most of them were negative emotions.
Anna did not know how to face Jane, so she just lowered her head.
“Mrs. Fowler, are you okay?”
Leia asked with concern, naturally making her relationship with Anna a step further.
She even took Anna’s arm and comforted her gently.
As smart as Leia was, she could naturally tell that Anna had a good impression of her.
She didn’t know if it was because of Aaron, but it didn’t matter
Leia was surprised to see Jane in the ladies’ room.
But when she saw the embarrassment on Anna’s face, she realized that this was a good chance.
A good chance to please Anna!
“I… I’m fine.”
Anna didn’t have the guts to look at Jane.
She had gone through so much recently.
It was the first time she had seen Jane after that incident.
Anna had already convinced herself to be ****prepared
But she had been hiding at home for the past few days because she was afraid that she might run into Jane.
She promised Jack and Aaron that she would cheer up.
But when she really saw Jane…
Anna still had no idea how to face her.
She had done so many things to hurt and humillate Jane before.
And she knew how much Jane had suffered.
However, as Jane’s biological mother, she only watched coldly instead of giving her a hand. What really worried her was how her adopted daughter, Madelyn felt after her birth daughter returned to the Fowler family.
To her surprise, it was the girl, who had cut off her relationship with the Fowler family, saved her, Henry, and many other people, avoiding an international dispute.
This girl was Jane Fowler, the world champion and the idol of countless people.
At the thought of this, Anna seemed to see Jane covered in a dazzling halo that almost blind her eyes. She began to reflect on what she had done again.
Jane looked at Anna as if she was looking at a funny clown.
It turned out that her evil “biological mother” also knew what “embarrassment” was! Jane fixed her gaze on Anna for a short moment. After sizing her up, she looked away. Meeting her gaze, Anna felt like someone pricked her hard with a needle.
No matter how thick the armor she wore, it couldn’t resist the needle piercing her body.
It was so painful that Anna couldn’t stop her body from trembling.
She could tell that there was not the slightest warmth in Jane’s eyes.
It was not icy cold.
It was just that there was no emotion in her eyes at all.
It was as if they were not related by blood.
It was as if Jane was not her biological daughter or a Fowler.
It was as if their relationship was even more distant than that of strangers. And they were two parallel lines that were not supposed to be crossed.
Realizing this, Anna felt like her whole body was suddenly drained of all strength. She was so feeble that she could not even stand firmly.
Why?
Why did her heart hurt so much? Why did she feel so cold?
She’d rather Jane looked at her with cold, hateful eyes.
At least, it meant that after Jane left the Fowler family, she was still attached to them.
But Anna only saw indifference in her eyes as if she was not even match up to a stranger…
It seemed like Jane had completely removed the Fowler family from her heart.
To Anna, being ignored by her was even more torturous than any negative emotions. Anna wished she were dead. This was the first time that she had ever had such feelings.
