No Way Back (Jane and Hugh) by Anna Mac novel Chapter 407

Chapter 407
Johan and the others, who had already seen through Madelyn, frowned discreetly.
They remembered that Madelyn always acted like that in the past. It had happened too many times.
Back then, they had not paid too much attention to her behavior, but now that they were carefully analyzing Madelyn’s every move.
Why did they have this feeling that she was putting on an act? Was she trying to gain sympathy and slander Jane?
She was using the Fowlers as a gun. They would ******wherever she pointed.
“Mr. Laton… Micheal Laton?”
Anna was slightly taken aback. “Why is Jane with Mr. Laton?”
Micheal and Anna knew each other. The two families had a good relationship with each
other.
Of course, the two businesses had a mutually beneficial relationship.
Although Anna and Jack were better off than the Laton family, they were not ******* enough to trust the Laton family completely.
Each family placed its self-interests above the other party. They were pretending to be
cordial in front of each other.
Now, Micheal had gotten in touch with Jane.
Anna had a bad feeling about it.
“***, I… I…”
Madelyn hesitated and looked like she was too embarrassed to tell the truth.
Anna started to feel nervous. She held Madelyn’s shoulder. “Maddie, tell me, why did Micheal look for Jane?”
Madelyn’s lips quivered before she finally made up her mind. She said, “**… It’s Mr. Laton. He wants Jane to be his goddaughter.”
“What did you say?”
Anna and her sons spoke in unison, their faces filled with surprise.
“Yes. It’s true, ***. I heard Mr. Laton ask Janie with my own ears. I don’t know if Janie agreed to it. I chased after Janie to ask her about this…”
“When I came back, I don’t want to tell you initially, but this matter blows out of proportion, you may blame me for not telling you the truth. That’s why I say…”
Anna could not help but fall silent.
Johan, Aaron, and Quinton were staring at each other. For a ***, they did not know. what to say.
Anna sighed softly.
Chapter 407
“Give me my phone. I have to tell Jack about this.”
“Yes, ***.”
Johan opened his ******but did not say much in the end.
He wanted to ask if Jane had agreed to be Micheal’s goddaughter.
What should they do? What about the Fowler family?
Madelyn rolled her eyes.
Now that she had told them about it, it was none of Madelyn’s business what the Fowler family was going to do.
Perhaps the more chaotic it became, it was better.
When the Fowlers’ target shifted to something else, Madelyn could try and get more
information to Chester.
She was doing it not only for the man she loved but also to make plans for the future. She could use the information to blackmail for money.
Although Madelyn had become Chester’s captive, she had not forgotten about financial gains.
Jack rushed back immediately when he received Anna’s call.
“Anna, is it true? Did Michael really do that?”
“Maddie was the one who saw them. It’s true. Jack, what exactly happened? When did Jane meet Micheal? And Micheal wants to take Jane as his goddaughter? Isn’t Micheal our business partner? Why is he doing this to us?”
Anna got angry as she spoke.
She could not help but cough.
What Micheal had done was a slap to their faces.
Jack quickly said, “Anna, calm down first. Don’t be too agitated. Remember what the doctor said. What you need now is rest.”
“I know, Jack, I won’t be angry. I’ll only fall for those people’s tricks if I get angry.”
Anna took a few deep breaths to regain her rationality so that she would not be blinded by
anger.
She was so angry that she gritted her teeth.
***it, Micheal. He did not even have the courtesy to inform them that he wanted to ask Jane to be his goddaughter.
This was a blatant betrayal to the Fowler family.
He wanted to take their biological daughter away from them. Anna had Jane in her tummy for nine months. She had gone through the gates of **, pining for that daughter of hers.
Micheal knew that Jane and the Fowler family were on bad terms. Was he not taking advantage of them?
Seeing that Anna had calmed down, Jack thought for a ***and said, “I’ll call Michael

and ask him what’s going on.”
“Fight! We must fight. Micheal must give us an explanation for this.”
Meanwhile, Micheal looked at his phone. Jack was calling him.
He had already calmed down after his humiliating meeting with Jane.
“I didn’t expect news to spread so fast…”
Micheal narrowed his eyes, exuding a dangerous aura.
Micheal had long thought of an excuse to tell Jack when he decided to ask Jane to be his goddaughter.
He pressed the answer button on the phone.
Micheal lit a cigarette. As he puffed, he asked calmly, “Jack, what’s the matter?”
“Michael, I heard that you want Jane to be your goddaughter. Is that true?”
Jack’s voice was filled with anger.
***it!
Micheal knew very well that Jane was Jack’s biological daughter. He knew that Jack was feeling very guilty about what he had done to Jane.
Jane’s blood was from the Fowler family. Jack no longer dared to hope that Jane would forgive what he had done and return to the Fowler family.
However, he could not accept Jane becoming someone else’s goddaughter. To make things worse, that person was his friend. It was a downright betrayal.
This was worse than killing Jack.
“Before I answer your question, Jack, I want to know if Jane told you this.”
When he heard Micheal mention Jane, Jack thought that the tone sounded like Jane was already his goddaughter. Jack suddenly felt like his own flesh and blood were about to be snatched away by outsiders. He instantly exploded.
“I’m asking you first. Micheal Laton! Answer my question!”
“If you don’t tell me, Jack, I’m going to hang up the phone. You’ll never know the outcome or my reason for doing this!”
“You!”
Jack did not expect Micheal to threaten him.
He was so angry that he flickered with resentment.
“Micheal Laton, what are you doing? Both our families have known each other for more than 20 years. There’s no enmity between us, and we’re business partners. We always get along well. I didn’t expect you to do such a thing.”
Anna could not help but speak into the phone.
“It seems that you really care about your daughter, Jane. Jack, you should consider it carefully. Tell me, did Jane tell you about this?”
“No! I have no reason to lie to you! Someone else overheard your conversation with Jane
and told me. Tell me, Micheal. If you don’t give me an explanation, I will sever all ties with you from now on. Fowler Corporation will no longer cooperate with the Crown Group!”
