No Way Back (Jane and Hugh) by Anna Mac novel Chapter 57

Chapter 57

Looking at Jack, Dwayne was completely stunned.

Even Dwayne did not expect Jack to suddenly apologize to Jane. Dwayne noticed that Jack had never apologized to anyone except Anna. Stubbornness, pride, and defiance were the perfect definition of Jack.

Even when he coaxed his wife when she was angry, Jack didn’t look like this.

At most, it was natural for him to coax his wife because he loved her deeply.

This was also Jack’s principle of being a husband all this while.

However, this was clearly not the case.

He felt a heartache as if his heart was getting stabbed by a knife.

God knew how hurtful he was when he was forced to apologize to her biological daughter in front of his own son.

Only Jack knew how much pride did Jack have to swallow to do that.

He placed his dignity in front of the person that he once looked down on the most in the past and allowed his dignity to be trampled on and crushed.

He did all these just to protect the Fowler family.

In order to prevent their children from being hurt by the rumors.

On the other hand, Jane did not seem to be impressed.

“What an attitude. People who don’t know better might think you’re trying to

kill me instead of apologizing to me.”

She continued, “I don’t accept your apology!”

Jane was indeed Jane.

She was a vicious and mean woman to Dwayne.

The words she said made him have to urge to strangle her to death!

“Jane, that’s enough. Look at this man! He’s your father! The father who gave birth to you! He’s your blood-related family! Do you have to be so

mean?”

Dwayne’s eyes turned red.

His heart ached.

Still, he said this for Jack.

Jane was nothing compared to Madelyn.

Jane couldn’t even compare to Madelyn.

She was not even a sane person to him. He thought she had gone crazy.

Even a dog would appreciate and be grateful for its master who had given it shelter and food. It also knew how to please its master.

But Jane could not even do that.

It was better to keep a dog than to raise a daughter like Jane!

At the very least, dogs would not betray their owners unlike a vicious daughter like Jane, who forced her father to apologize. Somehow, she still did not want to let him go. She even spoke rudely and humiliated him in every possible way!

Dwayne was filled with regret now. When Anna said that she wanted to find Jane and do a DNA test, he should have stopped her even if he had to risk his life!

Otherwise, the Fowler family would not end up in such a mess. Jack did not have to go through all this either.

Jane said, “Watch your words. Dwayne, I’ve cut ties with your Fowler family. Don’t come to me and play the victim card. Father? He’s not my father! You’re not my brother either! Do you really think you’re my brother? That’s ******!

“From the beginning to the end, after I cut ties with the Fowler family, I’ve never wanted to have anything to do with you. It’s you who appeared in front of me again and again. You’ve misunderstood me again and again. Why are you pretending to be a victim now? Don’t talk nonsense in front of me! I’m not going to buy it!”

Jane narrowed her eyes, exuding a cold aura.

Jane hated the most when the Fowlers played the victim card in front of her.

When Jane didn’t make a fuss or show her strength, the Fowler family would ***her in every way possible. They would turn a blind eye and neglect her.

They only doted on Madelyn and caused Jane to have depression. Every time she committed suicide, it was Lila who found her in time and called an ambulance.

The Fowlers had never appeared from the beginning to the end. When Jane recovered from her injuries and returned home after stabilizing her

emotions, they would only say that Jane was being ***. They thought she was too childish to even commit suicide.

They found Jane to be ungrateful when she had already gotten the chance. to return to the Fowler family as the real daughter. She could enjoy endless wealth and glory. The Fowler family thought they had already given Jane enough. Yet, she was the one who was being ungrateful all the while!

They had always cared about the Fowler family’s reputation. They would unite in order to kick Jane out of the house and protect Madelyn, who would always be their little princess.

After Jane made a scene and revealed her ability, Jack was forced into a corner. That was when the Fowler family remembered that Jane was one of them. They were using words like kinship and bloodline to gaslight Jane. But what right did they have to do so?

Jane would only be considered one of the Fowlers when they found her to be useful. Otherwise, she was worthless.

When she was useless, they even wished she could disappear and ***. They would never want her to mention the Fowlers,

“Janie, calm down…”

At this moment, Andy spoke softly.

He reached out and gently touched Jane’s arm.

Jane instantly regained her senses.

She suppressed her anger, and her eyes became calm again.

Jane said calmly, “I’m sorry, Andy. I lost control just now. I was really disgusted and furious.”

She then told Andy not to worry.

“Jane…”

Dwayne still wanted to say something.

“That’s enough, Dwayne. Don’t speak yet.”

A that, Jack chided.

“Dad!”

Under Jack’s gaze, Dwayne could only lower his head and turn his face away. He could not bear to look.

He was afraid that he would not be able to control his temper and rush up to beat Jane up.

Dwayne felt like his heart was about to stop beating.

To him, Jane was really too much. She was simply not human! She was a beast!

Again, Jack spoke. “If you think my apology is insincere, fine I’ll put down all my pride and apologize to you now

“I’m sorry, Jane. It’s my fault this time I shouldn’t have misunderstood you.” Jack even bowed to Jane.
