At this moment, Darren felt that his soul was starting to become lighter and lighter. It meant that he didn't have much time left to spare.
"Merle, listen carefully. I need you to do a very important task for me. As soon as your strength has reached to a certain degree, I am entrusting you to accomplish it immediately," Darren said with a sense of urgency in his voice.
"Go ahead, my real body. I'm listening," Merle quickly responded.
"Go find Elsa and make sure that she is safe. You have all of my memories, so you'll know where to find her," Darren instructed.
"I understand," Merle replied.
"Merle, you're the only one I can ask. Promise me that you'll find her as soon as you can. Tell her I'm doing okay and that I'll come and see her soon," Darren added.
"Don't worry. I will," Merle said.
Then, Darren's soul began to slowly fade until it eventually disappeared without a trace.
Soon after, as Darren regained his senses, he realized that he was now back at the Tussle Region.
"Darren, you've finally come back. What happened? How did things go?"
Murphy asked as soon as Darren opened his eyes.
"Didn't Lord Starry Sword tell you anything?" Darren asked with a hint of confusion on his face.
"No, he didn't. Why? What's wrong?"
"Well, it turned out that he never planned to take me as his disciple," Darren said straightforwardly.
"What? That doesn't make any sense. You're an amazing talent. Why would he…" Murphy was startled. He couldn't think of any reason why Lord Starry Sword had done what Darren was saying.
"I wish I'm lying, but sadly, I'm telling the truth. It's up to you now whether you'll expel me or just finish me off. After all, I'm not a disciple of the Starry Sword Region anymore," Darren said in low spirits.
Murphy stayed silent for a while before finally asking, "Darren, did Lord Starry Sword say anything about your identity as a Defiant Master?"
"Not really. At first, he sent me to a dangerous place so that I could be killed there, but then later, he changed his mind." Darren told Murphy everything honestly.
"Hmm, I don't think it's as serious as you imagine. Think about it. Lord Starry Sword learned that you are a Defiant Master, but he didn't kill you. It means that he has let it go. I don't think you should worry about it anymore. Get over it. It's not like it's already the end. Besides, we're still friends, aren't we?" Murphy let out a soft laugh to lighten the mood and patted Darren on the shoulder.
