Nobilis of War novel Chapter 1292

Maxwell revealed his killing intent to Darren.

"Ha!"

Darren chuckled and took a step forward.

"Gambling King, you know what happened at that time. You wanted money, but I wanted to survive. Under those circumstances, I had no choice but to make sure I won."

"Humph! You brat! You made me lose more than two hundred million killing points and a lot of divine patterns. Do you think your life is worth that much?" Maxwell roared angrily.

"Please don't be angry. Let's stop talking about the value of my life. I am more than willing to compensate you for what you lost. What do you say?" Darren said calmly.

Instead of calming down, Maxwell seemed to get even more furious.

It was not that he didn't want to gain back what he had lost. He just didn't believe Darren could actually afford it. He was also about to acquire Murphy's property. There was no way Murphy could be helping him pay.

"What? Are you unwilling to accept it, Gambling King?"

"Humph! You brat! How much property do you even have? How can you return the killing points and the divine patterns that our Gambling King lost?" one of the old men jeered.

"I happen to have one hundred million killing points, which I got with the help of Lord Starry Sword. I also have three level-seven divine patterns! I wonder if these would be enough," Darren said. While speaking, he released three level-seven divine patterns. They floated in the air in front of the old men. The old men tried to reach out for them, so Darren immediately drew them back.

"They are indeed level-seven divine patterns!" The three old men were shocked, their faces pale. Their eyes, however, glowed with greed.

"Three level-seven divine patterns are indeed worth more than one hundred million killing points."

"No way." Maxwell was tempted to accept his offer, but he still wanted to see what Darren could give him.

"Gambling King! I have offered to make up for what you have lost. What I showed you is all I have. There's nothing I can do if you don't want to accept it. I guess I will just have to be buried with these treasures. I wouldn't think my humble, insignificant life was in vain since I was able to leave this world with so many killing points and divine patterns. Humph!" Darren huffed, his face darkening.

However, he believed that Maxwell, the Gambling King, would not give up so many killing points just to kill him.

Right then, Maxwell winked at the old man beside him. The old man immediately stepped forward and spoke. "The things you offer are actually not enough to compensate for what our Gambling King lost. However, considering that you have some sort of connection with Lord Starry Sword, he will graciously spare you. Now hand over the things you offered."

"I will spare your humble, insignificant life for the sake of Lord Starry Sword," Maxwell declared.

"No problem," Darren said, smiling. He put one hundred million killing points on the ground and released three divine patterns.

Maxwell smiled slyly and immediately hid the killing points and the divine patterns away. He thought that he was able to score a great deal. In his eyes, Darren's life was not worth even one level-seven divine pattern.

"My tab's been settled, then. But what about Miss Freda's?"

"I have said..."

"Stop! Everyone knows what's going on. Just state your price!" Darren said, interrupting him.

"You're an interesting one, you brat. Why, if we never had such a past as we do now, well...I would probably even like you," Maxwell said, forcing a smile.

"One hundred million killing points and one hundred level-five divine patterns." Maxwell did not budge.

"Fuck off!" Murphy roared fiercely.

"Master Murphy, don't worry about it," Darren said, pretending to soothe Murphy. "Miss Freda's life is more important than anything else. We must save her even if we have to give up everything we have. Why, you must just be out of your mind because of anger!"

"Darren, it's not your place to meddle in my affairs," Murphy said, feigning anger. Unbeknown to everyone else who was there, the two were putting on an act. They needed to make it believable to everyone, especially to Maxwell.

"Master Murphy, I have brought all the stock of our sect with me, including fifty million killing points and thirty level-five divine patterns. I will use them to save Miss Freda, whether you agree or not," Darren said, his voice low.

"You!" Murphy bristled. "I'll kill you now!"

"Stop!" The three old men flew over to restrain Murphy.

"Murphy, what kind of father are you? How can you stand knowing your daughter is in danger? You can earn killing points again. But if your daughter is dead, can she come back to life?

This is a small price to pay for your daughter's safety. Think about that!"

While the old man spoke, Darren flew toward the Gambling King.
