Not A Small Town Girl (Danielle and David) novel Chapter 144

"I'm done here! I'm leaving, bye," Xavier said. He really didn't want to see Jaden, so he decided to leave quickly.

"Okay." The general manager waved his hand.

Without a word, Xavier walked out, as if a dog was chasing him. If he was wearing slippers, they would probably have fallen off.

"The meeting ends," Jaden said, striding out.

The remaining people in the meeting room looked at each other, feeling a little confused.

The assistant hurried after him.

"Mr. Johnson, are we going back to the company now?" The assistant was also confused by Jaden's actions. 'Why did the meeting end like that?'

"Wait for me in the car," Jaden said without even looking at the assistant and walked in another direction.

"Okay," the assistant replied. Jaden was headed toward the direction of the restroom.

In the restroom, Xavier was washing his face with cold water. He thought, 'I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I hide?'

He cheered himself up, thinking that he should be more confident but not embarrassed.

As soon as he turned around, he saw Jaden leaning against the door with his arms crossed. Xavier's feet slipped, and he almost knelt down on the spot. He had just cheered himself up, but now he gave up.

He said, "Excuse me, I want to go out."

"Don't you recognize me anymore?" Jaden asked, a smirk playing on his lips as he looked at Xavier.

Xavier felt a chill down his spine as Jaden stared at him. 'What was he up to?' However, Xavier was grateful to Jaden for taking him home that day, so he walked over to Jaden and said, "Thank you for taking me home that day."

Jaden looked at him. Xavier had perfect skin, and he was even more handsome than those female celebrities.

'Why did Jaden keep looking at me without giving me a response?' Xavier thought. He tilted his head and waved his hand in front of Jaden's eyes.

"How will you thank me?" Jaden asked in a deep and mellow voice after a moment of silence. There was a hint of impatience in his heart.

Xavier was stunned. He blinked in astonishment. He was just saying it out of courtesy!

How should he thank him?

Xavier thought, 'But since Jaden had already said, what else could I do? I had no one to blame but myself for drinking.' It was rare for Xavier to be at a loss for words.

Jaden watched as Xavier thought about something. He didn't rush him, just waited.

"I don't know! What do you want? How about I buy you a car? No, you don't need it. How about I introduce you to a pretty girl?" Xavier said, racking his brains. He thought he was so smart.

Jaden's face turned cold. He thought, 'He's really stupid. And he has no emotional intelligence at all.'

Xavier saw that he kept silent and his face was cold, so he said impatiently, "Then tell me, what do you want? You are so picky."

Jaden heard his words and thought, 'He is quite good at reversing the fact. I didn't speak just now.'

"Add me on WhatsApp first, and then you can treat me to dinner and a movie when you have time," Jaden said.

"That's..." Xavier didn't expect his request to be so simple, but would it be weird for two men to go to dinner and a movie? But since he said so, Xavier could only agree.

"Okay. I've been resting recently and don't have any work. Send me a message whenever you have time." Xavier took out his phone and added Jaden on WhatsApp.

Jaden didn't expect him to agree so readily. He raised his eyebrows in surprise, then laughed.

He said, "Okay."
