At the dinner table, Autumn noticed the awkward silence between Estrella and Jason and couldn't help but ask, "Estrella, Jason, why so quiet? Is everything okay?"
Cole, overhearing Autumn, couldn't resist chiming in, "I've been saying it forever, their personalities just clash. Look, it hasn't been that long, and they're already at each other's throats!"
Jason shot Cole a glare, annoyed by how smug he seemed.
Autumn, sensing the tension, quickly tried to smooth things over, "Come on, every couple has their squabbles. It's normal to fight and then make up. It doesn't mean they're not right for each other."
Cole retorted, "Well, you and I have never fought in all these years."
With a raised eyebrow, Autumn snapped back, "Cole, what's wrong with you? The kids are already upset, and instead of helping, you're making things worse. Would you actually be happy if they broke up?"
Of course, Cole would be thrilled, but he kept that thought to himself.
Estrella stayed silent, while Isaac focused on his meal, casting nervous glances around the table. Whenever he made eye contact with someone, he'd quickly look down and eat faster.
Seeing everyone in a bad mood made Isaac lose his usual cheerfulness.
Hearing Autumn’s scolding, Isaac nodded vigorously, signaling to Cole that he shouldn't be stirring the pot.
Cole, noticing Isaac's stance, simply said, "Alright, let's just eat."
Once the older couple had finished their spat, Estrella, having had enough, put down her utensils and announced, "Mom, Dad, I'm done. Enjoy your meal. Isaac, take your time."
She pointedly ignored Jason.
As Estrella left the table, Jason quickly followed, claiming he was full too.
Finding Estrella at her desk, Jason pulled up a chair beside her, "Honey, are you still mad at me?"
Annoyed, Estrella replied, "Enough with the sweet talk. Don't distract me from my work."
Despite her irritation, Jason simply sat beside her, silently admiring her as if she were a piece of fine art, giving her the space she needed to work.
Later, in Estrella's bedroom, after wrapping up her work, she noticed Jason still by her side, his eyes slightly reddened. Estrella, caught between laughter and tears, affectionately tousled his hair, "What's with you?"
Jason's expression was one of pure innocence, "I didn't mean to bother you. I just didn't want to leave you while you were busy."
This tender moment reminded Estrella not of anger but of their shared history and affection.
Estrella's gentle touch and Jason's heartfelt apology brought them closer, transcending past grievances.
As Estrella reassured Jason, mentioning how everyone, including Alex, would move past their fears and misunderstandings, she playfully warned Jason about his tearful eyes, threatening to tease him about it publicly.
Jason, trying to play it off, claimed he was just tired from watching her work for so long.
Estrella, giving him the benefit of the doubt, accepted his apology, and in that moment of vulnerability, they found their way back to each other, their love reaffirmed through whispered apologies and tender kisses.
Estrella gently closed her eyes, and Jason, with a tender motion, scooped her up, letting her straddle his lap.
