He always thought Melinda was the epitome of innocence and fidelity. When they were together, she seemed as pure as the driven snow.
But the evidence Bryce waved in front of him was a slap in the face. He hadn't expected her to be so sullied, so wildly unfaithful behind his back, even going so far as to hook up with male models—sometimes two or three at a time—while still with him.
This woman, how could she act so convincingly, playing the part of the naive girl so flawlessly in front of him?
Justin's anger and trembling were met with Bryce's chuckle. "Surprised, are you?"
Hearing Bryce's words, Justin looked up, still feeling a twinge of fear from the last time Bryce had roughed him up. But now, realizing Bryce had unearthed Melinda's past for him, Justin gathered his courage, thinking Bryce must want him to break it off with Melinda, to take Erik's side.
So, with a serious look, he said to Bryce, "Mr. Jason, thank you for letting me know all this. I understand what I need to do now. I won't have anything to do with Melinda anymore, nor any ties with the Manning family."
After Justin spoke, Bryce looked up, "Justin, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick."
Justin's face fell, "Mr. Jason, what do you mean?"
Bryce's smile had a hint of mischief, "I didn't show you those things to push you away from Melinda. After all, I ship you guys hard. Plus, I despise men who bail after causing a storm."
"So, I expect you to speed up the wedding plans, get hitched pronto. Because if you drag your feet and I get unhappy, I can't guarantee the future of your Nelson Enterprises."
Helping him dig up dirt on Melinda, hinting at a breakup, since when had Bryce ever been so altruistic, so considerate of others?
Their meeting today was all about locking Justin and Melinda into marriage, making sure they didn't part ways.
Wasn't he into Melinda? Well, he could have her to his heart's content.
Before Justin could respond, Bryce added, "Oh, and I really despise divorces. You've sworn to love Melinda for a lifetime, so I expect you won't go back on your word."
"Otherwise, you might not even find yourself a spot to beg on the streets."
With that, Bryce slammed the evidence of Nelson Enterprises' tax evasion and fraudulent accounts right in Justin's face.
Looking at the financial reports scattered over him, Justin was paralyzed. Forget taking on the Nelson family, he wasn't even in the same league as Bryce.
Had he not seen Melinda's transgressions, unaware of her past abortions, he would've married her, given the Manning family's influence.
But having seen all that, especially her video from last night, just the thought of her name and face made him nauseous.
Realizing Bryce's intentions, Justin knew he was meant to swallow this bitter pill.
Leaving Bryce's office, Justin felt utterly drained, nauseated.
Especially thinking about his intimate moments with Melinda, he headed straight for a hospital check-up.

At lunch, Erik and Estrella were catching up when they learned about Bryce's antics from the previous night, courtesy of Bryce's assistant.
Erik's chopsticks clattered to the floor as he processed the news.
When he shared that old story with Bryce, he never imagined Bryce would go to such lengths against Damita and Melinda, even forcing Justin into marriage by confronting him with evidence.
Not only had Bryce unearthed the truth from fourteen years ago, but he also dealt with Justin in his unique way.
Bryce, holding her close, boasted, "Of course! Who dares to mess with my wife?"
However, thinking about Bryce digging up dirt on Melinda and throwing it in Justin's face, then ordering Justin to marry her, Erik couldn't help but laugh and say, "But seriously, you Nelsons really know how to play dirty."
Neither he nor his brother Jason had any redeeming qualities.
Actually, Erik wasn't that concerned about whether Melinda and Damita got their comeuppance anymore. She was just increasingly convinced that marrying Bryce was the right move.
Despite his usual laid-back demeanor, when it really mattered, he never dropped the ball, and he was genuinely good to her.
Looking down at Bryce, Erik suggested, "Let's eat! I cooked dinner."
Bryce replied with a mischievous grin, "Can I eat you first?"
Erik burst out laughing, "Sure."
With that, Bryce scooped Erik up and headed back to the bedroom.
By this time, Erik's hair had grown out quite a bit, looking even better than when she used to wear wigs. And she wasn't just growing her hair out for Bryce; she had also started wearing dresses more often, trying her best to tap into her femininity.
Erik's frequent changes in appearance kept Bryce constantly intrigued, making their daily lives sweet as honey.
