The next day, Bryce took Jesse to the hospital for a check-up. With the test results in hand, the doctor looked at them and announced, "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, you're expecting! You're about six weeks along."
Hearing the doctor say six weeks, Jesse suddenly realized she'd missed her period this month. Having been through this before, she couldn't believe she hadn't noticed!
After picking up the prescribed supplements, Bryce carefully helped Jesse back to the car. Bryce had always been affectionate towards Jesse, but now that she was pregnant, he became even more attentive, hardly taking his eyes off her, always there to support her.
On the drive home, Jesse worried about the discomfort to come. Bryce was right there, reassuring her, promising to be by her side through it all. Glancing at Bryce, Jesse saw his ever-patient demeanor as he comforted her, and she said with a smile, "Bryce, for you, I'm willing to go through this pain again."
Hearing this, Bryce's face lit up with joy, and he kissed her hand passionately. Feeling calmer, Jesse took out her phone and said, "Oh, I need to call Estrella and fill her in."
She dialed the number she knew by heart. At her desk, buried under a mountain of paperwork, Estrella saw her phone light up. Recognizing Jesse's call, she answered with a smile, "Hey, Jesse."
On the other end, Jesse cleared her throat and shared her news, a mixture of resignation and happiness in her voice, "Estrella, I'm pregnant again. I'm having another baby."
Hearing this, Estrella couldn't help but laugh, "That's wonderful news! Congratulations to you and Bryce!"
"Bryce is acting like a complete worrywart," Jesse added. After a bit more chatter, they ended the call.
Estrella, still smiling, set her phone aside, then suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest, making her uncomfortable. Rubbing her chest until the pain subsided, she then dove back into her work, feeling the toll of her busy schedule and time spent with Isaac, noticing her increasing fatigue. She promised herself a couple of days of rest at the end of the month.
As she sifted through decades-old financial statements and audit materials sent over by Joshua, Cole, and Landon, Estrella skipped lunch to hunt for a breakthrough, convinced of Cole's innocence despite the expiry of the limitation period.
Estrella, determined, declared, "Even if it's too late to clear everything up, I have to expose the lawyer who framed you. Do I seem like someone who lets things slide?"
"I must seek justice for you."
Convinced of the lawyer's guilt in other shady dealings, Estrella was determined not to let him off easily. Cole, touched by her spirit, said, "Having you as my daughter is truly a blessing."
Estrella, proud, continued her work while chatting with Cole, who, feeling sorry for her, brought her favorite dishes from a hotel for lunch. Only after watching her finish her meal did Cole leave her to her work, closing the door behind him as Estrella, grateful, returned to her tasks, overwhelmed but wishing for simpler times.
Meanwhile, Jason, too, was swamped with documents and meetings. At seven in the evening, after concluding a video conference, he called Estrella, hoping to invite her for dinner. The phone was soon answered, and Autumn's voice greeted him, "Jason."
