30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 399

She was even more stunning in person than in her photos and on TV, exactly how Chelsea had pictured her in her dreams. Chelsea couldn't take her eyes off Estrella, overwhelmed with emotion and finding it impossible to look away, her eyes slightly red with unshed tears.

"Estrella, this is my mom. She's heard all about your cases and admires you so much; she's a huge fan," Sandy said, grinning from ear to ear.

Estrella gave her a warm smile and then turned to Chelsea, "Aunt Chelsea." She added, "I'm so sorry to have you come all the way to the hospital."

Hearing Estrella's voice, Chelsea snapped back to reality and greeted softly, "Estrella."

Her voice was gentle and soothing, making Estrella feel welcomed and at ease. Estrella gratefully accepted the health supplements Chelsea handed her, chuckling, "Aunt Chelsea, you're too kind."

Chelsea couldn't stop looking at Estrella. "It's the least I can do, especially after how well you've treated Lily. I've been meaning to thank you in person."

Instead of tea, Estrella poured them some coffee, insisting they relax while she took care of everything, embodying the role of the perfect hostess.

As they sat down to chat, Chelsea's concern for Estrella was evident. She didn't probe into Estrella's work or show much interest in her cases but looked at her with tender care, asking, "Estrella, you must be exhausted from work. I heard from Lily that you have a son. You must be very busy."

"If you ever need help, I can babysit or cook for you," Chelsea offered, adding, "After all, Lily is still single and refusing to settle down, and I'm just idling at home."

Touched by Chelsea's warmth, Estrella revealed, "Aunt Chelsea, my father has recently returned to the company, and as for home and my son, my mother and a nanny help out. My son is mainly looked after by my mother-in-law and my mom, so I'm not as swamped."

"But if you like children, I'll bring Isaac over to visit when I'm off work."

Chelsea was overjoyed at the prospect, promising, "Of course, I'll make you all something delicious."

Estrella was pleasantly surprised by Chelsea's genuine care and the way she looked at her, as if they had known each other for years. The bond formed so naturally with Sandy and her mother felt like fate.

As the evening approached and Jason called to check in, Chelsea had to reluctantly get up from the couch. Estrella walked her to the elevator, where Chelsea asked with a hopeful tone, "Estrella, would it be alright if I visited you again tomorrow?"

He paused before adding, "Estrella, I just want you to be happy. Whatever you decide to do, whatever you choose, I'll be right here supporting you."

The doctor's words from that day echoed in Jason's mind, instilling a sense of fear. He was scared that Estrella would bottle up her emotions, scared that one day she wouldn't be able to hold on anymore and that tightly wound string would snap.

So, he wanted nothing more, nothing else but for her to be healthy and happy. She could do whatever she wished.

Estrella smiled slightly and nodded, "I understand." Then she said, "If you decide to leave this time, don't bother telling me. No need for goodbyes either."

With a smile, Jason gently ruffled her hair. The gate to the yard slowly opened, and a servant came out. Estrella opened the car door and stepped out.

Jason got out to help her with her luggage. Watching her walk into the house with the servant, Jason's heart ached for all the years of her hidden struggles. From now on, he vowed never to put her in a difficult position again.

As Estrella and the servant disappeared inside, and the call from the office rang through again, Jason finally returned to his car and drove back to work.
