30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 402

Don't think just because her mom's a stay-at-home mom she doesn't have anything to do. Even if she had a million things to handle, nothing would be more important than Ella from the South dropping by!

Her mom had been looking forward to this day for who knows how long, probably even more excited than Sandy herself.

At that moment, Sandy couldn’t help but feel a burst of happiness. She felt like their home was missing some liveliness, needing a kid to stir things up a bit.

Estrella had mentioned she’d take Isaac to visit the Castros on Saturday, so Jason brought Isaac back to her on Friday night.

Isaac, having not seen Estrella for a few days, was overly affectionate, hugging her legs and rubbing against them, making Jason almost jealous.

At the doorstep, after a brief chat and greetings with Estrella, Jason watched them enter the house, his eyes lingering until they were out of sight. Only when Drew called about a business acquisition did Jason finally get into his car and leave.

And Kristin? She was still staying at Jason's place, having completely neglected Landon at home.

The next morning, as Estrella took Isaac to the Castros, Autumn saw them off, loading Estrella's car with a bunch of gifts.

Not until she made sure Estrella had packed everything she arranged did Autumn feel relieved, wanting to ensure they didn’t breach any etiquette on their first visit.

Half an hour later, arriving at the Castros, Chelsea, Sandy, and her father Dominick were already waiting outside to warmly welcome Estrella and Isaac.

“Estrella,” Chelsea greeted them with a smile as they got out of the car. “Hello there, Isaac!”

Estrella ruffled Isaac’s hair, encouraging him, “Say hi, Isaac.”

“Hi, Grandpa!”

“Hi, Grandma!”

“Hi, Auntie!”

Isaac’s voice was sweet, and his manner just as polite as Estrella’s, making everyone beam with joy.

After exchanging pleasantries outside, Estrella brought the gifts from the car. Chelsea, feeling a bit sheepish, said, “Estrella, you shouldn’t have!”

“It’s just a little something, Aunt Chelsea.”

Sandy and her dad helped carry the stuff inside, and the group moved into the house amidst lively chatter.

The Castros lived in a villa, not as grand as the Dorvolds or the Nelsons, but Chelsea had the garden looking cozy and vibrant, filled with flowers and greenery.

Once inside, Sandy quickly set them up in the living room and dashed off to prepare a fresh fruit platter.

Estrella smiled, “I’m good, I’ll keep you company, Aunt Chelsea.”

Chelsea enjoyed their conversations, having taken a liking to Estrella from their first meeting, feeling as if she had known her for a long time.

Estrella declined the nap, so Chelsea, beaming, suggested, “Would you like to check out the garden then? I’ve planted all those flowers myself. See if there’s any you like; you can take some home with you.”

“That sounds wonderful! I noticed coming in how beautiful your garden is. I’d love to learn a bit from you.”

As they strolled through the garden, admiring the flowers, Chelsea shared softly, “This little section is tulips. They’re actually quite easy to grow. Soil planting tends to yield brighter blooms, and they flower quickly.”

“I’ve always adored tulips, so I dedicated this spot just for them.”

"This side we've got hydrangeas, and the climbing roses on the fence are pretty easy to take care of. I'm also fond of the lilies, and over by the fence, those two magnolia trees and the sweet osmanthus are your favorites, Dominick. The grapefruit tree is more for show; the fruit is quite bitter."

At this point, Chelsea turned to Estrella with a laugh and asked, "Estrella, don't you ever find it a bit dull, spending every day in this little garden?"

Estrella looked over the flowers and plants, and Chelsea's serene presence, and replied, "To be able to spend each day surrounded by this beauty is a tremendous blessing."

Living carefree, tending to the garden, was a life many would envy.

Estrella called it a blessing, and Chelsea, with a reflective smile, said, "Yes, indeed! I consider myself incredibly lucky and content with my life. The only thing that could make it better would be another chance to see that child, then I'd have no regrets at all."
