30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 417

Today, we attended Catrina's funeral, and Estrella's mind was racing.

"No way," Jason reassured her. "Keith's known about us for a while now. If he wanted to make a move, he would have done it already. He's probably still hoping to negotiate."

"And if he even thinks about hurting you, he'll regret it. I'm with you all the way."

Estrella looked up, concern etched on her face. "But what about our son if something happens to both of us?"

Jason looked down, half-joking, "You got us into this mess," then added sincerely, "I won't let anything happen to you."

At that moment, Sandalwood Oasis was like a fortress, with dozens of bodyguards inside and out, taking turns to protect her from the shadows.

Bringing her and Isaac closer was to ensure their safety.

He wouldn't let anything happen to them.

Estrella smiled, trusting him, "Okay, I believe you."

Her words made Jason leap into action, pulling her into his embrace. "Can't sleep? Let's do something meaningful instead."

"Jason, your mom's around."

"Stop, that tickles."

"Jesse..."

The garden was tranquil, the fragrance of flowers and trees intoxicating, as Estrella's laughter filled the air, sweetening the moment.

---

A few days later, Korey called Estrella, inviting her out for dinner to share the news about his new job in the Capital.

During dinner, Estrella congratulated him on his promotion and offered her condolences about Catrina's passing.

Korey philosophically said, "Birth, aging, sickness, and death are part of life."

Estrella replied, "Enjoy every day, savor every meal and drink."

When Korey dropped Estrella off at Sandalwood Oasis, he stepped out of the car too, knowing it might be a while before they met again. He ruffled her hair like old times, advising, "Live happily, don't bottle everything up, don't take on the world alone. Make a good life with Jason."

Estrella nodded, "I will, and don't you just bury yourself in work. Pay some attention to your personal life too."

Korey agreed, watching her enter the compound before reluctantly leaving.

As Estrella urged Jason to shower, they discussed her potential return to law, balancing work with looking for the right opportunity.

Sitting on the bed, they reminisced about the past years and pondered Isaac's future, their room echoing with memories of nights spent in restless thought.

Jason, holding Estrella's hand, cherished its softness and the gentle touch she provided. He was reminded of a night years ago when Estrella had painfully removed her ring, a memory that still ached in his heart.

Back in the day, she probably thought that ring was a misfit, which is why it was such a struggle to take it off.

Gently massaging her hand, Jason said, "Babe, you really go to town when you're mad, kind of puts the fear of God in me."

When Estrella was in a good mood, Jason would push his luck, but the moment she lost her temper, he'd turn chicken.

But, that was then.

Estrella shot him a look, "If you didn't get up to mischief, why would I get mad?"

Caught by her glare, Jason couldn't help but chuckle, continuing to hold her hand, he gently caressed the scar on her ring finger.

He said, "Estrella, truth be told, that ring back then wasn't a bad fit."

Estrella looked up.
