30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 531

Suddenly, Leonora brought up marriage, and Taylor turned to look at her, his eyes wide with surprise.

It was clear he was caught off-guard that Leonora would even broach such a topic.

Seeing the look on his face, Leonora understood his answer.

He wouldn't marry her, wouldn't make her his wife, and he found it odd she even had such thoughts. How did marriage even cross her mind?

Without waiting for Taylor to respond, Leonora continued, "I didn't mean to pressure you, or even think about marrying you. I asked just to remind you not to get too wrapped up in this act, or we'll both be in a mess we can't clean up."

Ever since he mentioned Grant was coming back, Leonora felt he was overdoing it.

Now, it was just ridiculous.

Meeting his friends was already pushing it; there was no way she would meet his parents. She wouldn't put herself in such an awkward position.

Besides, with the unfinished business between her and Grant, how could she possibly integrate into the Ferguson family?

Seeing Leonora's reasoning, Taylor's face darkened, especially at her warning not to get too lost in the act. It made him uncomfortable.

With both hands on the steering wheel, Taylor was silent for a while before finally saying, "Leonora, there's nothing wrong with how things are now. We're both happy. You don't need to overthink things about my parents."

Despite his words, his thoughts were the same. He liked Leonora’s company, enjoyed sleeping with her, and could introduce her to friends and family, giving her some semblance of status.

But marriage? That had never been on his mind.

Maybe he’d had fleeting thoughts, but they never stuck.

Taylor was back to his old tricks, trying to sway her. Resting her elbow on the car window, Leonora scratched her head and said dismissively, "Let's see. Give me some time to think."

Taylor liked to stall, to drag things out. So, she'd do the same.

After some time, his enthusiasm might wane, and he would stop bringing it up.

Maybe after a while, once he realized there was no contact between her and Grant, and a reconciliation was impossible, he would let go.

Leonora didn't argue with him, and Taylor, smartly, didn't press further, just humming in agreement, saying he'd give her time.

At that moment, Taylor thought that maybe giving Leonora some time would make her realize how well they fit together and how happy they were with the current arrangement.

Sometimes, the difference in thinking between men and women on the same issue, the same sentence, can be vast.

Just like now, one thinking about how to end it, while the other considered how things could improve, accepting this form of relationship.

---

Moments later.

As usual, the car stopped downstairs at Leonora’s place. When Taylor got out to see her off, he leaned in for a kiss before letting her go home.

The idea of having dinner at his place was also temporarily shelved.

Back in her room and lying on her bed, Leonora’s mind was once again in turmoil because of Taylor.

The things he did and said during this time kept affecting her.

Thinking about Taylor's earlier suggestion to come over for dinner, yet avoiding her question about marriage, Leonora felt incredibly frustrated.

Grabbing a pillow to hug, she turned around, facing the window, and muttered, "What does he take me for? Someone to call and dismiss at will?"

Strictly speaking, he seemed to be more attached to Leonora, unable to be without her.

"Leonora, I'm going out to take a call," Taylor suddenly whispered in her ear while she was enjoying her meal.

Hearing his words, Leonora, holding a shrimp, nodded, "Yeah, go ahead!"

As Taylor stepped out to take the call, Leonora continued to eat earnestly, her eyes only on the food.

Seeing her so focused, the others jovially said, "Carrie's got quite the appetite. Watching Carrie eat makes us all enjoy our meal more."

When others called her Carrie, Leonora looked up and smiled, then continued eating after the brief acknowledgment.

In such settings, she seldom spoke for two reasons: one, her status wasn’t quite right; and two, she found it hard to connect with them.

After a while, seeing that Taylor hadn't returned, Leonora glanced towards the entrance and then whispered to the girl next to her, mentioning she was going to the restroom. If Taylor showed up, she asked her to let him know.

The girl immediately nodded in agreement.

---

Meanwhile, Taylor, after finishing a call in the small garden, decided to visit the larger restroom outside.

Just as he stepped out of the restroom, he saw Ava suddenly turning the corner and appearing before him without warning.

It had been over a decade since they last met. At first glance, she had matured significantly, possessing a noble and elegant demeanor far removed from her teenage or early twenties self. She radiated a dignified grace that spoke of her age, yet time seemed to have left no mark on her face, making her seem almost from another world.

Their eyes met, and both paused, momentarily startled, before stopping in their tracks.
