30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 583

"No worries, I'll toss it when I get out," Leonora said, noticing Taylor hadn’t moved his hand. She reluctantly placed the tissue in his palm.

As the traffic jam began to clear, Blake glanced in the rearview mirror, seeing Taylor and Leonora in the backseat. Though they weren’t talking, Taylor’s mood was noticeably better, his eyes sparkling in a way Blake hadn’t seen before.

Grinning, Blake suggested, "Mr. Taylor, it's dinner time. You and Ms. Arielle don’t often get a chance to meet. How about we head to Lavender Bistro?"

The bistro Blake mentioned was a charming, private spot that Taylor often visited.

Taylor turned to Leonora, "How about we grab some dinner before I take you home? It won’t take long."

Blake’s idea was exactly what Taylor was hoping for. If Blake hadn’t suggested it, Taylor would have himself.

Leonora found it hard to refuse Taylor’s polite request and said, "Sure, that works."

Two years ago, he left her a check for a million dollars. She hadn't touched it and thought she might return it to him today.

Agreeing to dinner seemed to lift Taylor’s spirits even more, adding a noticeable cheerfulness to his demeanor.

Soon enough, they parked outside the restaurant. Blake, looking a bit sheepish, approached them. "Mr. Taylor, it’s my wife’s birthday today. Mind if I head home first?"

He trailed off, not finishing his sentence. Taylor, understanding, nodded. "Go ahead, Blake. I’ve got it from here."

Blake quickly handed over the car keys. "Thanks, Mr. Taylor. I’ll grab a cab back."

Without waiting for a response, Blake hurried off. He didn’t want to be the third wheel, especially after Taylor had waited two years for this moment.

Watching Blake leave, Leonora could easily understand his intention. He was giving her and Taylor some alone time. But after more than two years, was it still necessary?

Her thoughts drifted to their last encounter when Taylor was with another girl. Their eyes met, and Taylor, calm as ever, said, "Shall we?"

"Sure."

Once inside the private room, with tea and appetizers served, Taylor poured Leonora a cup of tea. "How have you been these past two years?"

Two years. Not too long, but not short either. To Taylor, it felt like centuries, like he had been longing for her forever.

"I’ve been good. How about you?" Leonora responded.

"I’ve been alright."

Upstairs, Leonora had just set down her bag and switched to slippers when Shania emerged from the bedroom.

"Arielle, Peyton has set you up with a guy from her office. Make some time to meet him this Saturday," Shania said.

Hearing about another blind date, Leonora felt weary. "Mom, let’s drop it. I don’t feel like going this time. I haven’t hit it off with anyone despite all these attempts. Please tell Peyton to stop. Love is about fate, isn’t it?"

Over the past couple of years, Leonora had grown numb to blind dates. She had met plenty of people but never found the right one. Joselyn said it was because no ordinary man could catch her eye after Taylor Grant.

But Leonora didn’t see it that way. She just wanted someone normal and suitable. Yet, every blind date had some off-putting aspect that made her unwilling to pursue anything further.

Listening to Leonora, Shania said, "Fate? With your personality? When you’re not with Joselyn, you’re still thinking about Joselyn. Where do you expect to find fate? If you don’t go on dates, do you think fate will just drop into your room and deliver you a husband?"

"...Mom, don’t get so worked up. I’ve been busy with work. I’ll go next time."

She’d just had a date last week and was feeling weary. She didn’t want to spend every holiday on blind dates, feeling like she was wasting her time.

Seeing Leonora’s lackluster attitude and considering how she hadn’t hit it off with anyone, Shania looked at her with suspicion. "Arielle, are you still not over your ex-boyfriend? Is that why you haven’t hit it off with anyone?"
