After sending Maya away, Jesse received a call from Laurel.

Hearing the commotion in the courtyard, Rowan came out and saw her stepping out of the car with a bright smile, looking to be in high spirits.

He took her bag and raised an eyebrow. "What's got you so happy?"

"I don't know."

She had loved it from the first time she visited.

She loved the place because it carried traces of his life.

Rowan had already eaten dinner, so after greeting Janice, the two headed upstairs together.

When Elissa stepped out of the bathroom after her shower, she sat at the vanity to do her skincare routine, while Rowan stood behind her, expertly blow-drying her hair.

Elissa was well used to this, completely engrossed in her own tasks.

She tapped away on her phone for a bit, then opened her drawers to rummage around.

When she held the Jade Pendant in her hand, gently running her fingers over it, the large hand running through her hair suddenly paused.

She looked up in confusion and saw Rowan's expression turn serious. "Where did you get that?"

"I've worn it since I was little, but I only got it back last year."

Elissa hid nothing.
